By in United States,

Now that’s a nice one. Not quite as good as the 2003 version IMO, but still excellent.

This set was in stores for like 6 years. Maybe you thought it was a 2010 set.

Lol! I doubt it - as far as I was concerned, the Clone Wars wave took over the theme entirely for the last couple of years of the '00s.

What makes it not random?

By in Australia,

I remember seeing this in a Toys R Us in 2011/2012, about 5 years since it came out.

I’ve always wanted it for some reason. Don’t ask me why!

"Who else remembers the legendary Smooth Bun Leia that came in early runs of this set?"

I never got this set, but there were the Smooth Buns in the Tantive IV playset from 2009. Looked weird actually considering I would have expected that to have been done back in 2000 with the initial Leia minifig as things have always become more detailed as the years have gone by.

By in United States,

I loved this set as a kid! I think my favorite thing about it was that it was the same as (or very similar to) the version that was featured in the old Lego Star Wars Original Trilogy game. Owning the model that I got to fly around in in the game was really cool to the young me. :)

Not only one of the first sets I've ever owned, but I'm pretty sure this is the first Star Wars set I ever owned. Always loved it and still do, enough to recently go back and build it again, something I don't normally do.

Never owned it, but it's very nostalgic for me. I remember seeing it in a TRU around 2009,10. And of course it's in Lego Star Wars.

By in France,

My first X-Wing ever. The day I received it was one of the greatest moments of my AFOL life. Right across my two passions, SW and Lego at their best to me!

Ah yes... this very set brought me out of my dark ages! Still got it somewhere (a little yellowed...)

That version came out a couple of years before this.

It’s just ironic that an X-wing is the set of the day since the last Star Wars movie came out almost exactly a week ago.

My comment was a joke and not to be taken seriously whatsoever.
