Review: 75267 Mandalorian Battle Pack

75267 Mandalorian Battle Pack was announced recently and inspired an amazing response. The minifigures look magnificent and the associated swoop bike seems attractive too, corresponding with the previous 7914 Mandalorian Battle Pack and Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
These heavily armoured characters are not necessarily the most appropriate for assembling an army, given their varied attire. Nevertheless, their individual quality is brilliant and I think this interesting Battle Pack should prove extraordinarily popular, based upon official images.
Please be aware this review is spoiler free.
Minifigures
Four colourful Mandalorian Warriors are supplied, corresponding loosely with characters from The Mandalorian. These two minifigures are presumably female, based upon their unusual visor designs which reflect the likes of Bo Katan from Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Each helmet incorporates some realistic battle wear and I particularly appreciate their distinguishing bright colour schemes.
Similar colours decorate the chest armour. However, these characters appear suitably rugged in my opinion, as though sections of their attire have been replaced. The creasing looks fantastic and I like how some familiar Mandalorian shades, such as sand blue and dark blue, have been incorporated in new ways here! The accompanying black and dark brown capes look wonderful too.
Comparatively muted colours decorate the third Mandalorian Warrior. His dark orange helmet looks impressive though, featuring metallic silver highlights and patterns resembling Jaig Eyes which have previously appeared on Captain Rex. Unfortunately, the dark brown legs are undecorated so contrast with the other minifigures, although this Mandalorian's torso armour is beautifully detailed.
The fourth Mandalorian minifigure is my favourite. His dark azure armour looks superb, especially in combination with the purple designs and realistic damage across the helmet. I am similarly delighted with the chest armour which covers both sides of the torso and the mismatched leg protection seems perfect. This resolute warrior also sports an olive green cape.
Black heads are found beneath each helmet, perpetuating the mysterious atmosphere that surrounds Mandalorian culture. The minifigures wield stud shooters which is somewhat disappointing given their varied onscreen arsenal, although these weapons provide great play value and the attachment points seem ideal for modification.
The Completed Model
Balutar-class swoop bikes were introduced during Star Wars: The Clone Wars and appeared in 7914 Mandalorian Battle Pack. This vessel shares numerous similarities with its predecessor, including the angular flags which form stabilising vanes, but its colour scheme is distinctive and the updated model feels significantly more substantial. I think that may be attributable to its augmented width.
Stud shooters are positioned on both flanks and I like the radiator grilles connected underneath these weapons. Furthermore, the driver can sit comfortably behind the handlebars. The engine seems quite simple but this trans-red piece looks reasonable and the differing light bluish grey and dark tan curved slopes towards the back convey the age of this vehicle.
Unfortunately, the secondary model seems rather bland. This rubble incorporates interesting texture and the colours are entirely appropriate but something more identifiable would have been preferable, following the turret from 7914 Mandalorian Battle Pack. However, rubble does help in communicating the Mandalorians' dilapidated environment.
Turning the structure around reveals space for minifigures to defend their position. Two stud shooters may be attached here, allowing one Mandalorian Warrior to board the swoop bike while another takes cover and watches for approaching enemies. Nevertheless, this model is exceptionally dull in my view.
Overall
Minifigures are certainly the most important feature of any Battle Pack and 75267 Mandalorian Battle Pack includes four magnificent examples. Each minifigure is exceptionally detailed and their colourful armour really stands out, especially beside the accompanying models which are dominated by earthy shades. They also contrast with the eponymous Mandalorian from 75254 AT-ST Raider.
I am impressed with this Balutar-class swoop bike but the rubble is quite disappointing. Nevertheless, the minifigure selection is wonderful and I would have no hesitation in recommending this Battle Pack, even to anyone with limited interest in The Mandalorian television series or the recent Star Wars range.

Haven't ever watched those, seems like a good battle pack tho. Mocable
Great review thanks. Now I want the set even more.
Since the figures themselves have no specific faces or skin tone, this could be a great parts pack even outside of the Star Wars scene.
Lego please stop giving us stud shooters. They're really good for kids but they look horrible with minifigs.
I swapped the default capes of the blue and green Mandalorians and they look far better IMO.
Yeah, that's a buy.
If you bought multiples of these you could create some sort of game with 4 separate color teams.
Or have 4 armies approach a temple for a peace talk. ??
I might buy x2 of these along with the Raider AT-ST on May, Lego really needs to make: Zeta Class Shuttle (Rogue One/Jedi Fallen Order), Tie Reaper (Jedi Fallen Order/Rogue One), Imperial Troop Transport (Rebels/Mandalorian/Imperial Troop Transport), The Mantis, Purge Trooper Battle Pack, AT-ACT, Original Trilogy Tie Bomber.
This will be the first Battle Pack I've bought in quite awhile. Might have to buy a few Arealight jet packs to add to these. Also highly agree with @The_Teenage_Brickster, LEGO really needs to give us that baby Minifigure! Yet, chances are if they do they'll just don't put it in one 150.00 set though. Ugh.

So stop making something that's really good for the target audience?

I appreciate the disclaimer of "Please be aware this review is spoiler free." – I've had my eye on this set since the announcement and wouldn't have wanted to read the review if there were spoilers. My curiosity is now satisfied. Definite purchase. Thank you very much.
It's a shame there's no purple one, you could make Vile from Mega Man X with it. The blue one matches his X3 armor, at any rate.
@Teriyaqi - I understand that, but do you agree that they don't look great on minifigures? Lego could at least include regular weapons along with the stud shooters. They've been making an extra effort throughout the last year to produce more AFOL targeted sets as there is an increasingly large market for them. 4 extra tiny pieces are not going to stretch it much.
There seems to be a change on the horizon with battlepacks being better value then 4 collectible minifigures... now it’s 4 unique minifigures and some small builds for £12.99 vs 4 (hopefully) unique minifigures from dc collectible at £13.96 (Lego website sadly shows price increases to £3.49)...
This is the way.
I want two at least.

But the set is for kids! :-D
Buying this.
I have spoken.
The original Mando battle pack was one of my very first LEGO sets, I love the new show, and it's a pretty solid set, so I'll DEFINITELY be picking up one of these!
P.S.: I don't like the stud shooters either, but LEGO isn't going to get rid of them until they come up with something else (i.e., 3L bar shooters! LOL).
If TLG is insistent on continuing with stud shooters, they should include the new triple-shot tile loader introduced this past year in city fire sets to add some variation for different weapon types in these battle packs.

@mr_skinny - read my second comment.
The 4 regular weapons would be appreciated a lot by AFOls and would make no difference to kids.
This is the Way
I’m curious when Lego starts making a Baby Yoda (or The Child...) if it’ll be a completely new mold. Or a riff off the human baby mold. I bet they’re not happy not being able to cash in on him this Christmas.
This is the Way
... of doing battle packs, except for not including regular blasters. Honestly, I'm eager for Mando with Beskar armor and his little companion but I fear it'll be in an expensive Razor Crest set.
Just picked mine up today! And as I stood in the store, watching grandparents try to figure out what Lego set their grandkid might want, I pointed out the Mando battle pack and told them that the set isn't supposed to be on sale yet.
Could tell that a few understood what "giving a gift that is not yet available" could do to their position in the child's eyes. Pretty cool to see.
Where are people already buying this from?

Stores that have not noticed that the sets have a "do not place on shelves until..." date on them. Most stores have these sets in the back room. Last night I asked at a Wal-Mart and the people stocking shelves told me they can't put the sets out yet. Today, I went to a different chain store, looking for a hat, and found this set on the shelves.
I'm not into Lego Star Wars; however, this looks like a nice addition to my minifigure collection. If the price is reasonable, I will probably have to pick this set up...

I mean, it's a kids toy...
Best scenario would be they provide both.

Its a kid's toy, but it has also become an adult's collectable. I agree that they should include both.
Cool figures. Shame about the stud shooters but no big deal. They can go straight to the parts bin like all the others. Simply equip the figures with real blasters like those found in the Advent calendars and what have you.
Some sort of heavy weaponry to place on the rubble wouldn't have gone amiss. Even if it was just a stud shooter with a few extra bits on. Which is what I'll probably do myself should I pick this up.
Just brought it from The Entertainer in Worcester for £12.99 :)
Love the minifigures and the builds are nice enough.
Stud-Shooters in Battlepacks are still stupid. I don't even think, that kids like them that much and most Battlepacks now actually have dedicated play-features like the shooters on that speeder.. And even if, it would cost TLC about a cent to add a blaster for every figure.
I also don't get why there isn't a single jetpack in the set.
I will buy several packs and try to make different mix of character with some loose parts as well.
the better set of the new wave.
I miss the old Star Wars blasters that have been replaced by the stud shooters. They would make a great "Lego Extras" polybag set.

on the contrary the target audience (kids) likes them alot, cause shooting small lego parts away is awsome for them :-)
The best set of the new wave and one of the best battle packs in the decade. Asides from the stud shooters this set represents what a battle pack should be, unlike some other ones... Definitely getting a few of these
