I don't like the look of prequel troops, neither here, nor in the movies.

I don't have this set, but I have the rerelease from a couple of years back; the figures easily blow this set's figures out of the water by including aayla secura and battle droids. The newer set looks more accurate in terms of size, but without having both sets in-hand I could not offer a proper comparison between the two.

I like the size of this one but the shaping of the rerelease (which I own)

I don't own ether one of the two tanks, but I have built both of them with pieces from my collection fairly accurately and I somewhat prefer the new one over the old one, but they are so different they almost seem like they are two different vehicles.

I hope Lego will do more Clone Wars sets for the new episodes!

This is one of the more interesting SW: TCW sets to me - and I generally don't even care about the show. Sure, it's oversized, but just considering the model as it is, it's very good. Solid build, good parts and looks great. Honestly, if I should choose between this version and the newer one, there would be no competition. This just feels so much more tempting in general.

That is a neat looking tank. I especially appreciate how the mid section looks like a clone trooper helmet.

I've got to see this in person a few weeks ago and while I can appreciate the statement it makes with its enormous bulk, I think I prefer the second version more overall.

This was one of my favorites sets of all time for ages. Was so glad when they remade it, albeit very differently.

The 2008 was nice and a shame I never got it but I did managed to get the smaller version and it is on scale with the other vehicles (it should have sited 2 personels).

This says it's from The Clone Wars series, but when I see it all I think of is the old Battlefront games...

I generally preferred on-foot combat over the vehicles, but had their uses; I would usually use these tanks to charge through enemy troops more effectively if I wanted to reach a more distant command post on a map... then use it to claim and guard said CP so that my computerised allies could come at the CIS from both directions. I'm not sure how effective a tactic it was, ultimately, but it was fun at the time!

I guess I'd stopped paying attention to Lego Star Wars by this point, because I only recently found out that this set existed. Always cool to see more Legends stuff, though ^^

This was a Target-only release in the USA, and that's where I got it back in the day for $50. It was distinct in TCW show line in that the origins of the vehicle were in the EU, not the TV show (the Torrent Starfighter was the other good example of this). People have mentioned seeing in the original Battlefront games (you know, the good ones), though I think they go back even further, to 2002 and the PS2 game "The Clone Wars". Mace Windu has a tank battle on Geonosis with one of these against a couple of Dooku's Dark Jedi flunkies. But I never got that game, so I can't confirm if it was this hovertank specifically or another variant.

This set commanded a pretty high price on the aftermarket if I recall, but I think that might have been affected by the rinky-dink re-release with Aayla Secura. It might be more to scale with the actual tank in the games, but as a toy, the original is far more captivating and function-filled for a fun time imagining taking down Separatist troops. I really love those reversible weapon racks!

I always wanted this one as a kid. I remember LEGO had tones of animations featuring it on their website, with a lot of focus compared to the other vehicles that actually made it into the show.

I got this set from the thrift store just before Christmas two years ago. It was so nice to build something with regular bricks, instead of complex technic configurations and fancy SNOT techniques. Don't get me wrong, I do love complex stuff, yet the simplicity of this set was a sudden, but welcome, change.
