Remarkably prescient of Gandalf Arrives 9469 to come 17 years later.

By in Japan,

Good old times... PLEASE bring classical castle back!

By in Venezuela,

Is that parrot alive? It's... gray.
And apparently all he's carrying there is two studs, so I'd assume he's going to the Wizard Market to replenish stock...
@Schmopiesdad I have that set! I love it, so quaint and peaceful... and it has that awesome, new-for-the-time horse!
It's currently rebuilt into some weird contraption that came to me after remembering Gandalf is a Master Builder in TLM...

By in United States,

A lot of castle sets had the parrot element in dark gray back in the day. I believe they were intended to be falcons.

By in Canada,

One of the few castle sets that I had as a child. I still have good old Majesto kicking around in my collection.

By in United States,

Yeah I never assumed they were gray parrots. There are lots of birds that size it could be.

By in New Zealand,

Cool Grey parrot and Glow in the dark wand...what’s in the chest?

Another castle set, huh? That's three in five days, if this had been another theme people would actually be noting that down.

Merlin! Gandalf! Dumbledore! The same person has so many names!)

By in Germany,

@namekuji According to the instructions the chest contains a trans-blue and a trans-green stud. But according to the children's imagination, anything and everything!

By in Finland,

Such a good small set. You get a chest, bird, small wagon wheels (retired by now) and Majisto with his GITD wand.

I got a version of this set, apparently their is more than version of this set. As for the studs I always thought they where gems. Plus, it was a gray bird to me not some parrot.

By in United Kingdom,

Yeah fairly sure the grey parrot is supposed to be a falcon or some such. In fact, given who Majisto here is based on, I think we can assume it’s probably a merlin!

By in Turkey,

A very nice looking and well built complimentary set. Every castle needs a wizard with a cart.

By in Netherlands,

I had 2 grey parrots, both were in such a position that I always assumed they were parrot statues. Though I also often just played with them as if they were just grey parrots. They do exist you know.

This little Majisto set was a gloriously simple character build that my friends and I used for D&D. This set is partially responsible for getting me back into Lego as an adult.

By in Japan,

I never thought them as "grey parrots". I've always called them "falcons", for the grey ones and "parrots", for the colorful ones.
Weird people...

Good choice for Midsummer's Day. I assume he was heading to (or coming from) Stonehenge where he has celebrated the Solstice.

Ahh, the parrot. Every wizard's loyal companion.

I put this set out for sale at work yesterday. It looks very fun and nostalgic, but I wouldn't pay $12 for it.

I remember reading in a LEGO book the gray parrots were supposed to be vultures in the western theme.

By in Netherlands,

I had this one (I use past tense to describe my old LEGO up to around the year 2000 which I keep seperate from my 2016+) still have it built however.

This might be another reason why Nexo Knights was the theme to bring me back into LEGO after 15 years in 2016, as this is fairly close to the Merlok figure (which later actually was released with a book)

@Samie
I never found grey parrot that strange, as one of the more popular pet Parrots that can learn to "talk" is grey with a red tail.

One was seen in a few episodes of Popular Kid's TV program in my country as well.

Especially during the 80s and 90s , now they are Endangered :(

In English it's even called Grey Parrot.

By in Venezuela,

So it's alive after all! Good to know!
Wonder how that GITD wand looks in hand. It's gotta be cool if it glows in the dark...
