By in Australia,

It wasn't a good period to be a Town fan, but I quite liked these Shell promotional sets.

^agreed, the Shell sets were the only salvageable town sets from 1999-2000. Decent car and building that managed to avoid most of the juniorization that plagued the theme at this point.

Woah- It’s one of them there driverless cars. This set was well ahead of its time.

I got excited when I saw the set name, but when I saw the date I realised Huwbot has really mastered irony.

Neat set, very useful if you like to build your own town.

Nice to see the Austin Metro got an accurate model. By gum, that’s an ugly car!

Fond memories of purchasing this from my local Shell. I suppose those days are long gone! Great car wash and car in an era of juniorisation.

I love these wedge cars.

They’ve put gleam sparkle effects on the car that imply it’s already squeaky clean, so is she waving at the car wash guy to taunt him over how she doesn’t need him? And I presume he’s frantically waving to get her to put her hands back on the steering wheel before she crashes

LEGO should make these types of sets more often.

Another portion of the RSOTD comment algorithm:

If set 1998-2001, then print "something something hate the juniorization something something".

Nice little set, though. Wish I had it.

My folks picked this one up for me as a kid for Christmas, along with all the other 1999 Shell sets. I was building a town layout at the time, they were perfect for that.
