Random set of the day: Speedboat

Today's random set is 1069 Speedboat, released in 1999. It's one of 63 Town sets produced that year. It contains 22 pieces and 1 minifig.
It's owned by 320 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you might find it for sale at BrickLink or eBay.

I have no idea why they branded this a RES-Q set, not when they already had a RES-Q watercraft in this small size set (that actually was meant to be part of the RES-Q line). I don't think the girl was wearing a RES-Q uniform and the red colour-scheme doesn't match up.
'99 was an odd year for town. I quite liked all the Shell promotional stuff, I have to admit.
To be fair, one of the better town sets of that period.
^that’s not saying much. It’s identical besides color to 20 other boats from the previous 10 years, except this one has no motor.

The set was sold in 1997 as 2882 with no RES-Q branding
I kinda miss those old ponytail pieces and ridiculously over made up female faces. They were iconic. Remind me of Paradisa.
I thought it was a Spyrius boat by the color scheme.
Branded as 2882 a MISB set is still very affordable: cool!
