I would love a minifig scale remake of this set.

Hey, one I actually have--fun little set. Don't see a lot of official micro-scale these days.

I have a few mini building sets, but not this one. 2003, wow. Seems so long ago now.

By in Germany,

I really liked the scale of the original SW minis, but I can see why they changed to a larger one, since some vehicles were more or less impossible to recreate (the AT-ST in this already looked way too large).
It is funny how many printed elements this series produced, though still there were some missing that got added a long time later like TIE Fighter cockpit on a 2x2 dish!

An exact copy of this set's Slave I but in Boba Fett's green/brown colorscheme got released a year later as a promotional polybag for Kabaya.

Also note that this is still from the time when LEGO used the old color formula for dark red (instead of 'New Dark Red') which caused these parts to be surprisingly translucent when hold against the light.

It looks nice. It's this kind of little set (I don't have this one but own 4484-1: X-Wing Fighter & TIE Advanced) which helped me never cut completely with Lego during my dark ages. When I saw it on shelves, I took it as a Star wars fan, not as a collectioner yet. And I kept this tiny thing preciously with me for years, it always had its little place on my shelves, ensuring the link between Lego and me. Till the day I was offered two bigger ones for my birthday about ten years ago. That was the trigger day, since then I never stopped till I will be able to get all the sets I want.

The Mini Series was one of the best things back in 2003. You got extra parts in each of the sets to make an extra model. The first run with the smaller models helped make a TIE Bomber, the second run helped make a Y-Wing, and the third run in 2004 had nothing. It was advertised that when you bought all four, you got a TIE Fighter, except that was an exclusive thing only through LEGO, and it used the bluish grays, too, which is why the third run sucks. But the first two were excellent. In fact, this particular set used to live in the car and I'd reenact the scene from Episode II as we were driving down the road. Although not a lot of pieces, I got so good at taking them apart and rebuilding them in the car, I didn't even need the instructions.

A man I loved these mini sets. We still get similar things in pollybags and Advent Calenders but it's not quite the same. A reboot of this theme would go great with all the new movies, they covered practically everything from the first six!

I bought two of these recently, because it is the only set (apart from some "Special Edition" parts bucket from 2004 that is near impossible to find) that contains part 2436 (Bracket 1 x 2 - 1 x 4) in dark red, which I needed for Anio's Venator class Star Destroyer. He really used some rare parts for this.

Ah... gives me good memories of LEGO STAR WARS: The Complete Saga ; )

Hey a set I actually own! I wish I’d picked up multiple copies. Those printed parts are nice to have.

I used to have the star destroyer in this scale (4492), which was cool how much detail they could fit in, and keep thinking about bricklinking parts to make one again. I see these as the predecessors to today's microfighter line, after a detour through the sw planets line. I think there will always be a market for low-cost small representations of well known star wars ships.

Am I the only one uninterested in these mircoscale sets?
