Cue all the Gungan haters.

With that said though, I like this set.

I never got this set, but I do have a kaadu. It's quite a nice mold!

Wish they would remake this set a little bigger with a boss nass minifigure.

I'm surprised at how cheap this is on Bricklink

I love the Kaadu figures. My youngest son pulled my box off the shelf not too long ago and put it together for the first time in years.

So far, 3 of 4 on the random sets.

That's a really nice, funny little set. Never knew about this set, mainly 'cause I was still in my dark age in 2000. Added to my wish list!

In the year 2000, I didn't realize that LEGO produced as many as 19 Star Wars sets. I always wanted this set. I agree with the comment that there should be a new set of this with a Boss Nass minifig.

Great army builder set. I never got this set because I was in my dark age at the time but I did get a bunch of the kadoos on eBay years later. I wish LEGO remade this set with an updated kadoo sort of like they did with the dewback

By in Poland,

I'm still scratching my hea why we are getting ANakin fighter for like 6th time while sets like this would be better for remaking.

SW fans - was there a later Kaadu mold, or is this the only one?

By in France,

I've always hoped this set would be updated and released again. An important feature in universe... Highly collectible IMO, guess we will never see those kaadu back again. I'd like to have it just for them both. As told by Lordofdragons, I wonder why some spaceships have had five or six versions or more, and other sets just one... Children would probably love a re-release wouldn't they ? And collectors too.

will they ever re-release some jarjar figs ha

Far as I know this was the only set to feature any kaadu.

It's a neat little set and really makes you appreciate how far LEGO have come with the Star Wars licence from a detailing perspective. Those gungan minifigures have no eyes....

By in Netherlands,

I would like to see LEGO release this kind of sets again. Looks a bit like a battle pack, but without the stud shooters (not a fan of those) and no special characters. It would be way easier to buy a bunch of these sets to make a large battle scene of just plain soldier/trooper minifigures than buying those battle packs LEGO is making nowadays with mostly half the figs being special kind of soldiers/troopers.

Only droid armies are easy to create with sets like: 7662: Trade Federation MTT, 7929: The Battle of Naboo and 75086: Battle Droid Troop Carrier. Of which I own the first two myself. But for clone armies, rebels and imperials it is already a lot harder to make an army without spending a significant amount of money.

Love a bit of early Star Wars LEGO, I know that the prequal trilogy and Episode 1 especially gets (deservedly) lots of stick for its narrative failings but it’s flights of imagination like the Gungan’s and their city are rather wonderful and I agree are crying out for a remake!

Still have this one, lathough in pieces. The Kaduus are great, such a shame they've never been remade like the Dewback.

I always wanted this pack for those kaadu, but there's just so much else to collect/save up for right now!

Two gungans and large kaadu pieces along with the sturdy, large wagon and the awesome shield all for so cheap. I did wish for more of the blue bomb pieces, though. One of the coolest old SW sets.

By in Germany,

Got it in 2004 or so, heavily discounted. The build feels a bit too juniorized like most sets from 1999-2002, but the Kaadus indeed are nice^^ Awkwardly they felt the need to place them on green baseplates, although I found them to be still quite stable without them.
Notice that it contains pieces in 2 somewhat rare and discontinued colors: The Kaadus are cast in the Fabuland color Light Orange-Brown, while the Gungan Soldier's Shield is Bright Violet (the original Lego 'Purple' from themes like Cyberslam and early Bionicle, also the first Dumbledore's color).

I really wish they would remake this set. A Gungan Battle Pack could be nice and it include one of these Kaadus.

I've been after this set for a while. I hope soon LEGO will do a Gunman Battle Pack!

By in United Kingdom,

See? This is what we need! I'd get an updated one of these (a "gungan battle pack", if you will) with all the certainty on naboo!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

@Atuin, what makes it juniorised?
TPM is the only prequel I don't enjoy, but Boss Nass does seem like a gap in the line.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I would happily pay $10 for that

It was so good I bought two back when it was new so I have a handful of Kaadu. Besides the Naboo Fighter we've also had 3 variants of the Droid Carrier, 3 variants of MTT, 2 tan colour AATs and even 2 variants of the Gungan Sub. But we've never had more of the Gungan army than this set, arguably. Seems like a massive gap in the line but it's probably because too many 'Original Trilogy only' fans want to stay away from the prequels and their characters.

I think the Cap'n suggested we had a small set with Boss Nass and one of the ornamental heads in the What's Missing - Episode I article.
