Today's random set is 1528 Dragster, released during 1986. It's one of 26 Town sets produced that year. It contains 21 pieces and 1 minifig.
It's owned by 689 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you should find it for sale at BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $182.00, or eBay.

Okay well you're almost there, just need a longer snout.
From a go-kart to a dragster? Huwbot must be visiting a racing track.
Looks like Huwbot's getting on a car kick again!
And I thought Lego dragsters with undersized rear wheels were ridiculous. I do like that printed tile on the nose, though.
@Maxbricks14: I'm not sure this isn't still a go-kart.
Going through the old iterations, it is really cool to see the progression Lego race cars made throughtthe early decades.
1996 made the first cheating by introducing parts specifically meant for this. Although Indy Transport is still an amazing set by any means.
See. Minifig not holding steering wheel, 2/10.
pretty aerodynamic for '86

That "car" looks like a kick-start. You kick it downhill to get it started.
I own 60151. It's a MUCH better improvement than... this.

Maybe it is a go-kart. And the front just snapped off, so he welded it back on, but he didn't do it correctly so now it's leaning forward. But LEGO didn't know that, so they called it "dragster"
I'm afraid even the nostalgia can't help this guy.
My headcanon is that this and Friday’s go-kart are on the same track and are about to hit each other. Naturally it’s all the go-kart’s fault, that is some risky driving going on
I only ever saw this bundled together with 1572, and the old style red wheels on both made me feel they were a bit dated compared to other 1986 releases with their individual removable wheels, or at least the white ones that a few sets had that year.
Still, that’s a passable little set, though it could do with a couple of extra parts on the sides to stop the driver falling out when going round a bend.

That tow-truck is a gorgeous peak-80s Lego vehicle, though.

How does he go round a bend if he isn't holding the wheel? Surely he would just crash into the edge...

$182. I mean, dang, man.
I like it. It looks sleek with all that black with white and red highlights. Of course, since it's black it will now look a dull matte with a gray-ish sheen full of specks, as it will probably attract dust faster than the car's own top speed. But if it's clean and not with too many scratches it would look good.
Which can be said of most surfaces on cars, so there's that.
'Bye, bye Mom. I'm off to certain death, and/or.... VICTORY!!
Don't think I ever seen this set, not even in a catalog. Not sold in Europe probably?
Huw really likes racing
Is this a dragster, a go-cart or arace car?
