I guess we'll have to take your word for it, that this is a cherry, and not an apple.

By in New Zealand,

This looks suspiciously like an apple.

Pre-botanicals collection.

Since when do cherries have leaves at the junction of the stem and the fruit?

They don't, but this one's just wearing a scarf and being cute.

Yeah. It's a tomato.

Gravatar
By in United States,

They added the unnecessary leaf in a desperate attempt to get the piece count above 10.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I’ll also accept plum, peach, nectarine, red currant, crap Apple, medlar…

Yeah. It's a tomato.]]

Cherry tomato?

@MrNowack:
Doesn’t have to be _above_ 10pcs to qualify for RSotD. It just has to have a minimum of 10pcs. Cherry and stem would have done it without the leaf.

By in Poland,

The leaf makes it an apple, not a cherry. Please label this set as vile misinformation, huwbot.

By in United States,

This set is cherry!

By in United Kingdom,

Looks like someone taken one of those classic cartoon bombs and painted it red to make it look more appetising; are we sure Wile E Coyote didn’t design this?

By in Netherlands,

I recognise this one. Apparently from Japan, this is part of a series of fruit build polybags. According to the notes it came with a soft drink.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Info says that this was included with a soft drink in Japan, and if flavors correlated with builds, this would have to be a cherry if there was a cherry flavor. Or it could come from Hong Kong two years later where it was only labeled as a fruit under the set number, but elsewhere on the packaging, Cherry is also a designation.
I'm in agreement that this is not really a cherry, but it's a cherry.

If you listen really, really carefully you can still hear the echo of the barrel being scraped from when Lego designed this set in 2005...

swooooshhh ... gulp

By in United Kingdom,

Ch-ch-ch-cherry bawmb!

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

I bet Cheri Cheri Lady doesn't have any correlation to this.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Is it a cherry? An apple? Tomato? Plum? Peach? Nectarine? Red currant? Crab Apple? Medlar? Cherry tomato?

Or was this just the first ever Creator 10-in-1 set? Seems like they skimped on instructions though....

By in United States,

Am I the only one who saw this and immediately thought "Christmas ornament?"

Gravatar
By in Greece,

Was is designed by paid, adult set designers?

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I would imagine the design review process went sometime like this:

“Here’s the cherry you wanted”
“But it’s only ten pieces?”
“Yes, cherries are small”
“And only two colours?”
“Yes, you said you wanted a small cherry for a polybag”
“Ok. Don’t you know in ten years time there could be a day when people across the world marvel at your set, but not if it’s only ten pieces. Here, have a [rummages through random parts] 2x2 lime green plate. Put it somewhere noticeable in the artwork”
“Ok”

Who couldn't?"

I wouldn't want the margaritas, as I don't drink. I'd definitely go for any and all tacos you care to give me, though.

“It’s the new, amazing, 10-in-1 set!”
“But they’re all the same model, just with different names!”
“Shut up, kid.”
