By in Canada,

I had that set, still have the most parts, except the grabber part , that was one of my all time favorite pieces.

By in New Zealand,

Quite an odd name, it could have been named truck with mounted crane or truck with grabber. but i find this word to be quite funny on its own.

Well, that big yellow thing sure grabs the attention of the driver....

This reminds me of this budget lowrider I used to see on the other side of the state, where the wheels has been replaced with comically undersized wheels. The owner had also used mailbox letters to spell out his last name on the rear window, and on the rear quarter panels had applied holographic flame stickers that looked like something you’d get out of one of those bubble gum machines that take at least two quarters to operate.

By in Jersey,

I only have that crane bucket because of a parts pack, probably 1125 which wasnt a lot of use unless you also bought some hinges. Great part, though the ball on mine snapped off.

This reminds me of 6678. This looks like a truck-centaur of that one. I once owned that one from a bulk lot but the spring wasn't in the bucket. So I bought a whole other one with spring on Bricklink to replace it. But then I sold it and eventually the springless bucket off (don't worry, I made this clear on the listing). And now I bought one again... and I'm missing tbe spring again.

It's annoying because those springs can just be unhooked and on their own don't look like lego at all.

And that’s how this set ended up on a register/watch list

I had this set as a child. Sweet memories!
When the spring got lost, I replaced it by one of a ballpoint pen. And it worked!

@NotProfessorWhymzi:
Or No-Budget Edition. Might have got enough back from selling the original rims to finance the whole thing.

@UProbeck:
I worked for a boatbuilder in high school, and he had the trigger on a Makuta screw gun go bad. He was about to throw it out, but I disassembled it and replaced the broken trigger spring with one from a ballpoint pen. As far as I know…it still ended up in the trash. I mean, it was just a 9.6v battery, and it was years ago. Eventually the batteries would have needed replacing, and more powerful alternatives would have rendered the old model obsolete.

Well, when it chops their legs off (as often happened when my brother and I picked up minifigs with the bucket from his 387), they certainly won't be jaywalking anymore...

By in Russian Federation,

It's cool seeing these elements used in the intended (?) scale.
