We're many hours into Amazon Prime Day now and some Prime Day espresso machine deals have come and gone. But, for those of you who haven't logged on yet, some persist. If you're a little leery about Prime Day because there are so many thousands of things on sale and you aren't sure what's reputable and what isn't, the Prime Day discounts are worth exploring. Mid-priced semi-automatic espresso machines from two the biggest names—Breville and De'Longhi—have hundreds of dollars worth of discounts. One touch super-automatic espresso makers have some of the biggest price reductions, including our newly released favorite from Bosch. The only thing you really can’t find deals on are the high end prosumer machines. Here’s the thing about those machines though: We love the ritual of weighing our beans and dialing in our grinder to pull a perfect shot from them, but it’s more work than some people want to do. If you’re looking for a good, fast, easy cappuccino routine in the morning, below are the best espresso machines for you.

Now is the part of the post where we remind you that the best Amazon Prime Day deals (including the ones below) are only available for Amazon Prime members. If you aren’t one you can sign up for a free 30-day trial here that will give you access to everything (what you do with that trial after the Prime Day sales end is up to you).

And if you’re looking for discounts on other kinds of coffee machines—drip coffee makers, French presses, cold brew coffee makers, or pour-over carafes—check out our list of the best Prime Day coffee maker deals.

Breville Espresso Machines

For years, Breville's espresso makers outperformed the competition in our teams’ rigorous espresso machine product testing, and right now a few models are on sale, including one with a touchscreen. Every discounted Breville machine comes with a built-in grinder, which, we have to confess, is a feature we haven’t always loved, as they tend to be underpowered compared to stand alone burr grinders. But, fun industry fact for you: Breville bought respected grinder company Baratza several years ago and they have begun putting Baratza grinders in their newer machines, which should address some of the issues we found with older Breville’s jamming up. Particularly cool is the smart grinding and tamping technology on the Breville Express Impress. If you’re ready to finally live out your barista dreams in the comfort of your own home—and ditch that hand-held milk frother for an espresso machine with a built-in steam wand—consider one of the machines below.

De'Longhi La Specialista Arte Evo Espresso Machines

The Specialista Arte espresso machines from De'Longhi have similar features and functionality to the Breville Barista Express machines. In terms of performance and price they’re pretty close, although during testing the De’Longhis made a little less mess thanks to a screw on dosing funnel and an optional step you can put under the portafilter that stops any stray splash when pulling a shot.

Burr Grinders

We’re sure you’re not grinding your espresso with one of those Edward Scissorhands-style coffee grinders that slashes your beans into inconsistent shards. Right? (Right?!) But if you haven’t opted for an espresso machine with a built-in grinder and are in need of a new one, or want to gift one to someone who’s still grinding coffee or espresso beans with a glorified spice grinder (which can ruin even the best coffee beans), there are a couple good grinders on sale during Prime Day. Oxo’s burr grinder comes with a built-in scale. Coffee weight is particularly important when you’re making espresso because measuring by weight instead of volume is the best way to ensure consistency from one cup to another. The Oxo is has the lowest price we’ve ever seen for a good grinder with a built-in scale. The Fellow Opus though, is even better when it comes espresso brewing. It has both macro and micro adjustments to really dial in a shot, and comes with a dosing cup to cleanly move coffee grounds from the grinder to the portafilter.

Super automatic espresso machines

Super automatic espresso makers are, short of going to the coffee shop, the easiest way to get a flat white or latte in the morning. With a single button push the built-in burr grinder will grind the right dose of coffee, the built-in tamper will compress it with the right pressure, the automatic brewing will dispatch espresso into your cup, and the automatic milk frothing top it off with foam. You can’t adjust and hone your coffee the way you can with a semi-automatic espresso machine, but maybe adjusting and honing isn’t really your thing. For Prime Day there are a couple De’Longhi Magnifica models, the brand’s entry-level super automatics, on big sales. But we’re more excited that Bosch’s new 800 series is discounted. It just topped our latest round of espresso maker testing and can make three dozen different kinds of drinks, including some we bet you’ve never heard of.

Nespresso Vertuo Plus Machines

If you are a house divided (coffee drinkers and latte or cappuccino drinkers living under the same roof) Amazon Prime Day is a great time to free up some valuable countertop real estate with a Nespresso machine from the Vertuo line. Nespresso’s Vertuo machines aren’t your typical single-serve coffee makers (ahem, we’re looking at you, Keurig). They’re high-quality, 2-in-1 devices: coffee makers and espresso makers that yield a damn-fine cup of coffee and impressive expresso-style shots at the push of a button. Right now, our favorite model—the Nespresso Vertuo Plus—is on sale. You can buy just the machine or save on a machine bundled with the Aeroccino 3 (a milk frother that makes hot and cold frothed milk).

This is also a great time to snag a deal on the Nespresso Vertuo Pop machine, a compact, small-space-friendly version of the Vertuo Plus that also uses the Vertuo pods and brews both cups of coffee and shots of espresso. Sale prices depend on the color and bundle (and will likely change before the two-day sales event officially begins) but here are two discounted options to consider right now.

Nespresso Inissia Espresso Machine

If you’re really short on counter space and mostly drink espresso shots or Americanos (or iced Americanos, which many of us prefer to iced coffee), this compact machine from Nespresso’s Original line is on sale today too. (Read more about the differences between the Vertuo and Original lines.)

Espresso accessories

If you’re using a semi-automatic machine it takes a few extra gadgets to really get great espresso. A good tamper, like this spring-loaded one from Normcore will give you the right tamp pressure every time. And a bottomless portafilter (double check your machine’s size, but you’ll need a 53.5mm size for mid-priced Breville machines, a 58mm size for higher end espresso makers) will let you see exactly how the extraction process is progressing.
