Sonaca team level up! One shot out of autoclave SQRTM control surfaces technology is now fully ready! This innovation boils down in heavily integrating multiple composite part co-cured in one single step! Our teams have demonstrated this technology for a whole set of control surfaces from preliminary design to manufacturing and certification. While significantly reducing recurrent costs thanks to combination of both lay-up automation and assembly time decrease, this mature technology provides prominent weight savings and outstanding quality. 🚀 Eyes to the stars! Europe finds its way back to space and Sonaca is part of the adventure! As we are talking, the beautiful Ariane 6 rocket is getting ready for take-off. On its board, a little bit of Sonaca! Sonaca is supplying several key components of each Ariane 6 rocket from two of its strategic manufacturing sites: Belgium and Romania. These include composite aerodynamic covers, as well as the boosters back covers and flanges. Sonaca is adding a new feather to his cap! The ballet of trucks and shovels has just started at our Gosselies site. Following the award of the new contract for the A321 inboard flap, Airbus' rising platform, Sonaca, in partnership with WANTY and BSolutions, has begun construction of the future extension of our Large Sheet Metal plant. This will house a mechanical machining equipment for the inboard flap skins. This strategic investment will enable us to acquire new skills and develop our technological headquarter. 5 years later, Sonaca closes the curtain on HLFC Win. If you had to remember few things from this project? ✔ One JEC Composites Innovation award in 2023 ✔ Numerous technologies to be used for next developments : Krueger flap, induction de-icing system,... ✔ And our partners congratulations for the great work This project was achieved with the partnership of German Aerospace Center (DLR) Aernnova Aerospace ONERA - The French Aerospace Lab and Airbus as coordinator. Cleansky2 initiative aims to develop new technologies for a clean, innovative and competitive aviation system. As a reminder, HLFC (Hybrid Laminar Flow Control) technology is designed to maintain the smoothest possible flow along the wing. It offers the potential for significant reductions in specific fuel consumption. The teams developed a ground demonstrator to check the feasibility and integration of all associated HLFC systems.    #aerospace #innovation #engineering #industry
