The The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company one of the world's largest tire companies, has chosen EDP through our subsidiary Enerdeal to implement two solar projects at Goodyear’s facility in Luxembourg. Through a 5 MWp rooftop installation and a 2 MWp carport system at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company's premises in Colmar-Berg, Luxembourg, EDP and Enerdeal are helping the company to accelerate its decarbonization and use renewable energy in its daily operations. With this partnership, Enerdeal, a leading renewable energy solutions company that joined the EDP group in 2023, reinforces the growth of solar distributed generation projects in the Benelux region and consolidates its role of sustainability partner for companies in the region. For EDP, that is developing solar projects for businesses in Belgium and Luxembourg since Enerdeal’s acquisition, this partnership represents another important milestone that reinforces our European leadership. This is also a further collaboration that proves EDP's ability to deliver solutions tailored to customers' needs, acting as a strategic partner for companies in the energy transition. #Presserelease: 🛞 Goodyear Luxembourg chooses Enerdeal by EDP to install a 7 MWp solar project ☀️ Enerdeal, a leading renewable energy solutions provider that joined the EDP group in 2023, will implement two solar projects for The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Colmar-Berg, Luxembourg. These projects include a 5 MWp rooftop installation and a 2 MWp carport system, generating approximately 6,500 MWh annually and saving 3,000 tons of CO2 emissions per year. 🌱 Under a 20-year agreement, the projects will follow an “As-a-Service” model, with EDP securing 100% of the investment and sharing the financial benefits with Goodyear. Expected to be operational by early 2025, these projects align with Goodyear’s sustainability goals to transition to 100% renewable energy by 2040. “The solar as-a-service financing model allows our clients to rapidly and effortlessly deploy a massive renewable energy solution, fully in line with climate urgency and the growing strategic concern of most leading industries for Corporate Social Responsibility. No planet B! That’s why #WeChooseEarth at Enerdeal proud member of the EDP group. What an honour to participate yesterday at that inspiring conference wrapped up by UN former General Secretary Ban Ki Moon, together with Miguel Stilwell d'Andrade , CEO of EDP. We have d the priviledge afterwards to chat for a while with BKM reminding us that if we go on that way, meaning acting much too slowly, in only 100 years from today, the earth will face its sixth mass extinction with no doubt. The last one occured 65 million years ago… Urgency to act because the cost of not acting will definitely be much higher than of acting. So, acting now is per definition a highly profitable investment.
