Today Cowboy has introduced Race, a groundbreaking addition to our Connect software, marking our first venture into interactive in-ride gaming. Race allows riders to compete in 500m sprints against fellow riders, matching participants with similar stats and introducing faster challengers as levels progress. Part of the free Summer Update, Race includes two other In-Ride Games: Burn, a 60-second calorie burn challenge, and Push, a pedal power endurance game. These games prioritize safety with intuitive gameplay, audio cues, and automatic pauses. The Summer Update also includes Theft Alerts and adds dynamic In-Ride Milestones to the Ride Dashboard, transforming static data into an engaging experience. This free, over-the-air update reflects Cowboy’s commitment to connectivity and rider engagement, developed through thousands of hours of work by Cowboy’s dedicated software team and data gathered from 150m+ kms travelled by our rider community. This comes one week after we launched its new trade-in program in collaboration with Upway, the leading refurbished e-bike marketplace. The program enables riders of over 200 e-bike brands to trade in their bikes for a new Cowboy. Read all about Race and our update to Connect here: https://lnkd.in/d5f_EDn7 #cowboybike #cowboyconnect

Today, Cowboy has launched its first-ever E-Bike Trade-In Program in collaboration with Upway. Upgrading to a new Cowboy e-bike is so simple, it can be done without leaving your home. Owners of over 200 e-bike brands can participate, receiving the average value of their old bikes – typically over €1000 – plus an additional €150 voucher for upgrading to a new Cowboy model. And, later this summer, the program will be expanded to allow current Cowboy riders to upgrade their e-bikes as well – if this is you, register your interest on our website. Available in over 25 European cities, the trade-in program has convenience at the core. First, e-bike owners input a few simple details of their current bike on the Cowboy website to receive an initial estimation. A Cowboy expert will then assess the bike to validate the estimate at a time most convenient to the seller, either directly at the rider’s home, in a Cowboy brand store, or at a participating independent bike retailer. Once the valuation is agreed upon, the Cowboy expert will take the bike away and provide the customer with their trade-in voucher redeemable against any new Cowboy model. Cowboy continues its mission to make e-bikes more accessible. Alongside options like Klarna, Circular, and leasing, the new trade-in program offers another way to make owning an award-winning Cowboy more attainable. *Cowboy Cross first award win* GQ Magazine have awarded Cross ‘Best E-Bike’ in their 2024 Tech Awards. They said: "If you’re going to invest in an electric bike, odds are you’ll want one that can hold its own off the beaten path as well as it can on the streets and sidewalks. Designed with 60-millimetre tyres and suspension in the front fork and seat post for a smooth ride, the Cross e-bike from Cowboy brings its 250W rear hub to bear for pedal assist up to 15 miles per hour." With our first customer deliveries of Cross happening this week, we can’t wait to see this bike hit the streets. Learn about Cross here: https://lnkd.in/e2ZUKrbK

Tanguy Goretti, Cowboy co-founder and CTO joined Gemma Schepers, Yann Marteil, and Maria Tsavachidis at Micromobility Industries Live in Amsterdam to discuss accelerating cycling adoption in cities. The panel represented views from manufacturers, investors and cities with key recommendations including: - Investing in infrastructure for road user safety - Providing government subsidies to make e-bikes more accessible - Sharing rider data responsibly to identify theft and crash hot spots - EU policies and grants to support European manufacturers, reducing dependence on the Far East Moderator James Gross asked if autonomous bikes were necessary, which was met with a unanimous "no" from the panel and audience. What are your thoughts? With driverless cars here, do we need rider-less e-bikes too? How can we get more people out of cars and into the saddle?
