With two children currently in WCS, I am personally invested in its success. I am a product of public education myself and believe wholeheartedly in the power of education to transform lives for the better and to be a safe, nurturing environment for all students, regardless of background. As a school board member, students and teachers will be my top priority.

I bring expertise as a Human Resources professional, which equips me with the skills to build relationships, implement effective organizational strategies and solve complex issues like those that face the school board. This expertise will be particularly helpful in advocacy for teacher and staff compensation, recruitment, and retention strategies. My educational background, with a B.S. in Psychology and an M.A. in Higher Education Administration, reflects my ongoing pursuit of knowledge and understanding in the field of education. Having worked in multiple university environments for 10 years, I bring a unique perspective on student development theory and organizational dynamics.

I am running for school board because I believe every child deserves a high-quality, well-rounded education with opportunity to thrive and grow into individuals who contribute positively society. My priorities include improving educator recruitment/retention, empowering teachers with professional autonomy, and fostering a safe, inclusive for equitable student support and achievement.

  • Recruiting and retaining teachers is a top priority. This includes higher compensation and better resources.
  • Teachers are experts in their field and should be trusted to develop curriculum and determine age-appropriateness for materials.
  • Student safety is paramount, both physical safety and emotional/psychological safety. This includes comprehensive threat assessments, enhanced mental health resources, and addressing bullying. It also requires attention to ensure that policies and practices support ALL students, regardless of race, sexual orientation, income, or other characteristic.

Diplomacy, thoughtfulness, willingness to listen to constituents, and dedication to do the research required to make sound, data-based decisions.

A legacy of someone who always made people feel heard and never judged, someone who made people feel safe and valued.

The families of Williamson County District 9.

I believe the school board made the best decisions they could with the information and guidance available at the time. This was an unprecedented experience and decision makers were forced to weigh and assess risks without the ability to know the outcome. Our school district was able to return students back to school in person far sooner than most other districts, including some of our neighbors, and I’m grateful for that.

I will make it a point to be present in the schools I represent as much as possible, attending events and getting to know the unique culture of each school community. I will make myself available via phone and email, and will make time to meet in person as needed. I will always be available to listen to concerns.
