What would be your top three priorities, if elected?
1. Achieve thoughtful planning and increase development. 2. Increase collaborations between public and private partners for enhanced community safety and services. 3. Reduce homelessness and increase access to care.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
I am passionate about Economic Development, Historic Preservation and Reducing Homelessness in our valley.
Is there a book, essay, film, or something else you would recommend to someone who wants to understand your political philosophy?
After reading The Ugly American, by William J. Lederer and Eugene Burdick, and having traveled abroad many times, I have developed greater empathy and appreciation for different cultures and a deeper appreciation for American freedom and democracy.
What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?
I have essential development experience, planning and land use background and capital improvement knowledge—the bulk of which City Council duties entail. My grants and contract management experience enable me to obtain the additional resources and funding needed to augment the lean and often decreasing operations budget we deal with annually. As a former City employee, I know City leadership and understand internal processes. I have been involved in the Ward 3 community for many years, running the Huntridge Neighborhood Association for the last eight years, and I know the issues, concerns and solutions possible for our community firsthand.
What legacy would you like to leave?
I want to improve quality of life for residents of Ward 3 and make it the most vibrant, livable community in Las Vegas.
