Hello, my name is Bristol Marunde. I moved to Henderson NV in 2008. I packed my car with everything I owned and moved to follow my dream of fighting in the UFC.

My life changed when I asked a beautiful blonde realtor out for coffee. We talked for over 2 hours and the that was it! I walked away thinking to myself I think I just got married. Aubrey Marunde is her name and we are married with two boys Kane 10yo and Kale 13yo. Both boys play competitive hockey.

My wife and I began an exciting career of flipping houses in 2009. After I retired from MMA, we began filming a hit TV show on HGTV called Flip Or Flop Vegas. We bought, renovated and sold homes throughout the Vegas Valley. After 3 seasons, we parted ways with TV to focus on our family and spending countless hours at the hockey rink and doing homework with our sons.

I currently own and operate a General Contracting business where I remodel residential and commercial properties. I am passionate about giving back to my city, serving as a councilman I will be able to use my building experience and leadership skills to advocate for our first responders and responsible growth.

  • Residence of Henderson depend on our first responders. I am endorsed by the Henderson Police (HPOA). Our elected officials must have the integrity and courage we expect from those brave men and women risking their lives to keep us safe.
  • Henderson is growing, which is a great compliment to a thriving economy. However we MUST grow responsibly and plan for the future when designing a sustainable city. I want to hand the next generation an abundant, safe and an affordable city.
  • Trust. We must have trust in our elected officials. This can only be built from conversations and open discussions. We may not agree on all the issues facing Henderson, but a non-judgmental approach will bring us to a common goal. I will bring a level of transparency that we have been missing in our elected positions. I would like to hear what’s most important to you. Please feel free to contact me by phone or email.

I share a common passion for building Henderson and working with our Police Department to keep our city safe.

Growing up, I looked up to my older brother. He was a star athlete and had a sense of drive and purpose that always stood out to me as something special. When he decided to do something, he was able to say no to anything that attempted to distract him. One thing he told me when I was a young man, he said "you create your reality." This is something I took to heart and often repeat to myself today. There was a real sense of ownership in his life.

I received my BA in history from Washington State University. I believe we need to learn from the unique and exciting history of the United States to better meet the future challenges we face. I read the bibliography of President Abraham Lincoln and I and fascinated by the enduring work and tenacity this man acted with in devoting his life in leading United States to a more perfect union.

Honesty is imperative as an elected official. There must be accountability and a level of trust when leading and representing the will of so many diverse needs in a city.

I enjoy learning and building relationships with great people. My gift of bringing people together and working on a common goal will be a huge asset when working as a team with community leaders and city staff. I look forward to serving Henderson from my position of City Council.

I want to leave a safer, well-planned (growing) City of Henderson to my two boys and future generations. It's important to me that my son's are able to raise their families in a safe and thriving Henderson. We are faced with many challenges in Henderson, like a huge population growth, safety concerns and I want to meet these challenges with the future generations in mind.

My first job was commercial fishing in Alaska. I learned how to work hard and function in a high stress environment. The long hours and strenuous working conditions taught me many great life lessons.

One of my favorite books: Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor E. Frankl. It is a deep book about how Viktor Frankl’s experiences in the concentration camps of WWII and the school of therapy he invented to help us confront this very question; what is the meaning of life..!?

The last song stuck in my head was 'Riders on the Storm' by The Doors.

I have struggled with wanting to do everything myself. In some circumstances this may not be a problem, but to grow and work as a team I have had a hard time asking for help. Teams are effective and to achieve greater things we must learn to delegate and ask for help when we need it.

The city council is a very important position because it has the ability to direct a cities building and growth. It’s first responders and safety. The general direction and day to day needs of citizens can be addressed to their city council.

The voters can decide who they want to represent them on the city council, I am a firm believer in elected officials that are not career politicians should be running for office and returning back to their jobs after their terms have ended. Our countries founders were concerned that government positions could potentially be dominated by a certain class of individuals. We must be fully represented at our local government and the will of the voters can be heard.

Communication and a strong connection with the wide range of city functions, including but not limited to police, fire, building and public works. A successful manager and business owner learns to listen and communicate with employees and partners. City Council must be building relationships with the city employees and the businesses that make up the community and individuals who can help meet and exceed the future demands of an ever changing world.

I enjoy a good "dad joke". Seeing my two boys' reaction to a 'corny' dad joke is priceless.

I am endorsed by the Henderson Police Department, Nevada Peace Officer Association, Metropolitan Civilian Employees.

Our elected officials and government must be accountable for the decisions made on behalf of the people who elected them.
