We were stoked to partner with Allied Medical to launch their brand new Shopify Plus website, designed to enhance the customer experience and streamline their online presence. The site leverages the latest Shopify Plus B2B features to provide a seamless and personalised experience for their business customers. Key features of the new site include: - Migration and consolidation: Seamlessly migrated and consolidated content from their previous Umbraco website, ensuring a smooth transition for both Allied Medical and their customers. - Enhanced product filtering and search: Implemented robust filtering and search functionalities, making it easier for customers to find the right products for their specific needs. - Streamlined checkout process: Optimized the checkout process for a faster and more user-friendly experience, reducing friction and increasing conversions. - Custom design and development: Crafted a visually appealing and functional website that aligns with Allied Medical's branding and values. Shopify Plus B2B functionality: Implemented advanced B2B features, including: - ERP integration via InSyncer: Our InSyncer app seamlessly integrates with Allied Medical's MYOB ERP system, syncing pricing and product data directly into Shopify Plus B2B price lists. This ensures accurate and up-to-date information for customers and creates personalised catalogs for each customer, showcasing only the products and pricing relevant to them. - Streamlined ordering for business customers: Enabled quick order forms, purchase orders, and other features to simplify the buying process for businesses. - Invoice and invoice status display: Integrated the display of invoices and their statuses directly from MYOB Exo, providing customers with real-time visibility into their order history and payment information. - Ongoing support and maintenance: Provided ongoing support and maintenance to ensure the website remains up-to-date, secure, and optimised for performance. We hit Blackbird's 2024 Sunrise event last week, and the amount of incredible women gracing the stages was seriously epic to witness. Over the next few months, Missing Perspectives will be profiling female founders doing awesome things. Introducing Lucy Mort, one of the co-founders of Sunroom, who opened up about the reality of founder life and the lessons she’s had to unlearn on the winding journey to find product-market fit. Sunroom is a consumer facing app that supports women to make money online with their hot bods, killer personalities, and savvy business mentorship. Aesthetically and philosophically, Sunroom sits in a space somewhere between Instagram and OnlyFans. Missing Perspectives asked Lucy, who cut her teeth as a designer at the dating app Hinge, to give her perspective (hehe) on three famous design principles. Principle #1: 'Less Is More' Lucy Mort: “Yeah, I agree with that. We’re going through this process with Sunroom right now – stripping things back. You kind of have to assume that everyone is ‘stupid’ when designing your product, and I think the more functionality you add, you’re making adoption much harder to achieve.” Principle #2: 'Most Advanced, Yet Acceptable.' Pioneered by Raymond Loewy, this principle means you want to be at the bleeding edge of what’s cool and fashionable, but still within an acceptable boundary. “Yep, I agree with the bleeding edge. But there has to be elements of something familiar. It’s the 101 of innovating. Change one thing quite dramatically, but keep everything else the same.” Principle #3: 'The way you do one thing, is the way you do everything.' “No. I think my opinion on that has changed. When I started Sunroom, I was such a perfectionist. I’d come from a team where I led design at Hinge, and all I’d do is ‘perfect’. But it was honestly slowing us down at Sunroom having to make sure that the effort I was applying to one screen must be applied to every other screen because they are all of ‘equal’ importance - but they’re just not. I now focus on key parts of our user flow. Some parts need a lot of experimentation and A/B testing, others are just a random settings screen.” Photo credit: Gener8 Media

A big thank you to Steve, Lambro, Daniel, Sara and the Maras Group for the invite to the Adelaide Economic Development Agency 2024 Business Forum today. A wide variety of speakers on topics important to our CBD and State. Too many takeaways and insights to mention but a few that stood out for me were: 💻 Professor Simon Lucey's comments on the "critical mass of AI talent" we have in #Adelaide and the FOMO multinationals have who don't have easy access to our talent. 👩‍🚀 Dave Mackenzie's comment that "AI won't take people's jobs, it's the people who know how to use AI that will take the jobs." Hint: get on board people - especially SME's #LeanIn 💰 Australia has top notch research output but we struggle to commercialise technology - mainly due to a lack of access to capital/funding (Adrian Johnston) 🏘 We need more clusters of "employment land" - build housing near where people work. (Ben Parkinson) In the western suburbs/Osborne near defence jobs springs to mind for me. 👜 As someone who believes in being brand led I was inspired by the presentation from Philip Corne, former CEO, Louis Vuitton Australia and New Zealand, on luxury retail. Luxury brands sell a dream, have a brand first mindset, and an obsessive focus on customer experience. 🛍 Tourists shop when they travel and expect to find a luxury shopping precinct in a major city. Adelaide's CBD is long overdue for a luxury precinct. Is the south side of North Terrace, our cultural boulevard, the perfect spot? Tiffanys certainly think so. ⚾ According to MyVenue founder, Tim Stollznow, Adelaide is a founder's paradise with everything a start up needs to succeed - "we're in the Goldilocks zone". As Tim said, businesses can make their own luck if they work hard and are disciplined. What was your most memorable #AEDASummit2024 moment?
