  • 🌟Midweek Memories: Our 10 Year Story🌟 Just under 7 years ago on Thursday 29 June 2017, we co-hosted a special discussion on populism event in Perth with Curtin University's Strategic Flashlight Forum. The expert panel comprised of Dr Alexey Muraviev, Dr Ben Rich, Professor Krishna Sen, and former US Consul-General Ms Robin McClellan. They engaged in a broad discussion, covering populist rumblings across, Indonesia, the Arabian Peninsula, Russia and the US, as well as the contradictions inherent in recent populist movements. YAIA events provide an amazing space for young Australians to get involved in international relations. If you have any events you would like to see added to the YAIA calendar, please reach out!

  • 🌟 Midweek Memories: Our 10 Year Story 🌟 Today we reflect on our 28 September 2016 panel event, "The US Election Results: Impact and Issues for the Asia Pacific". We were fortunate to have been joined by a highly accomplished and knowledgeable panel, including Niels Marquardt, who at the time was CEO of AmCham Australia, and Dr David Smith, Academic Director of the United States Studies Centre, who took part in a fascinating discussion on how the 2016 United States Presidential election was predicted to shape and affect the future of the Asia-Pacific region. At YAIA, we are proud of our culture and initiatives which have always created an environment where young people can discuss and share their perspectives on international relations, politics, and social matters. In turn, we provide a learning opportunity for those interested in international relations to nurture their voice, and develop themselves as the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and change-makers.
