Over the last few months, I've been guided by members of an Aboriginal Advisory Committee and Working Group and working to bring a special First Nations Gathering event to life. Registrations are now open. This event is specifically designed by and for First Nations people who work in the Victorian public service. There's an incredible line-up of speakers, including: -Prof. Eleanor Bourke AM, Chair of the Yoorrook Justice Commission -Rueben Berg, Co-Chair of the First Peoples' Assembly of Victoria. -Terry Garwood, Deputy Secretary, First Peoples – State Relations, DPC -Tim McCartney, Department of Transport and Planning -Dr Jill Gallagher AO (HonLLD), CEO Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (VACCHO) - Mikala Purton, Victorian Department of Families, Fairness & Housing -Rose de Jong, Wathaurong Aboriginal Co-operative -Gail Lister, Victorian Public Sector Commission, and - Isaac Muller, ABC Australia and 2023 Ricci Marks Rising Star Award winner. As a coloniser descendant on a constant allyship journey, it's an absolute honour and privilege to support this event.
