So, you’ve conquered the SLEEP OUT, RUN THE MARATHON, and maybe even braved the BIG FREEZE. Now, it’s time to return to where it all began. Remember the 40 Hour Famine from your school days, just like Melissa Doyle does? Who could forget surviving on barley sugars and counting down the minutes until noon on Sunday when you could finally eat again? Most importantly, who could forget the sense of achievement you felt by doing something real to help hungry children around the world? We’ve brought the 40 Hour Famine back, and this year, we want YOU, corporate Australia, to get behind it. As a corporate leader, challenge yourself from August 23-25 and inspire your teams and networks to support you. Let’s lead by example in the fight against global hunger. Join us and make a difference. About us
Connecting Australians who want to help those who need support, World Vision is the thread that brings people together to create meaningful change for children. The world’s largest child-focussed NGO, we run emergency relief, development and advocacy projects in 100 countries. Thanks to the support of more than 200,000 Australians, including 130,000 child sponsors, together we help change the lives of over 11 million adults and children every year. Our employees at World Vision Australia have made a deliberate choice in working with us. From our head office in Melbourne to being on the ground with communities, we are united by a common purpose – to create a better and fairer world for children living in poverty, fleeing conflict and facing the impacts of hunger and disaster.

Brianna Boecker of Women's Agenda recently attended our Strong Women Strong World event hosted by our Goodwill Ambassador Melissa Doyle AM. In her coverage, she explores the issues motivating Australian women to achieve extraordinary outcomes across the globe, where the need for gender equality looms large and immediate. “When we talk about gender equality, it’s really important to address it as an issue that affects men and boys as well as women and girls,” shares Tracy McDiarmid, Environment, Disability, and Gender Manager for World Vision Australia. “It affects all genders.” Explore this life-changing work at https://lnkd.in/gazgXuJU https://lnkd.in/ghRNBqBe #strongwomenstrongworld #genderequality #endpovertyforall #education #educationmatters #makeadifference

Supported by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade through #ANCP, World Vision is proudly helping to restore 22 million hectares of degraded land in Ethiopia by 2030. 🌲🌳 We’re doing this with two things: through Farmer-Managed Natural Regeneration – a technique to regrow forests by tapping into dormant root systems hidden underground. And by encouraging farmers to pass on what they’ve learnt to other farmers. It’s simple, but it’ll change the world. Thanks #ANCP for helping spark a national regreening movement in Ethiopia! #dfat #fmnr #climateaction #regreening #ethiopia #makeadifference #worldvisionaustralia #worldvision

What an amazing way for World Vision to remember NAIDOC Week with the news that one of our partners has won the Education section of the national NAIDOC awards for their work which includes early childhood and Unlock Literacy in Warlpiri communities in Central Australia. We partner with the Warlpiri Education and Training Trust (WETT) which our AFNP Cultural Adviser Fiona Gibson sits on, leading this important work. This work is changing the lives of our kids and young mob. As we’re soon reaching 50 years of working alongside First Nations communities across Country we want to acknowledge the uniqueness and importance of this work and the people who are committed to changing lives.
