AUKUS | In a first for the AUKUS partnership, a group of Royal Australian Navy enlisted sailors have graduated from the United States Navy’s Basic Enlisted Submarine School in Groton, Connecticut. The sailors all graduated with distinction, with RAN SN MacKinley named the Honor Graduate for scoring 100% in the class. The graduation follows the first three Royal Australian Navy officers who completed their training at the U.S. Navy’s Submarine Officer Basic Course in April 2024 and reported to Virginia-class submarines based in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Nearly 100 Royal Australian Navy officers and enlisted personnel will enter the submarine and U.S. Naval Nuclear Propulsion trainings this year. QUAD | "For the United States, it’s simple. The Indo-Pacific remains the most dynamic and also rapidly evolving region in the world, but one of tremendous immediate but also future opportunity. And we know that we can maximize that opportunity, we can maximize the good that we’re able to deliver – for our people in our countries but also throughout the region – by working together, by pooling our resources, our ideas, and actually demonstrating results, and that’s really what the Quad is all about." -- U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken at the Quad Ministerial Meeting in Tokyo, Japan, today.

PERTH | Charge d’Affaires Erika Olson, Consulate Perth team members and an advance team of sailors from USS Emory S Land volunteered at Foodbank WA today. Food banks originated in the U.S. state of Arizona in the 1960s, and we’re so pleased the idea has spread around the world. We hope our efforts provide some relief for those in the WA community needing support. 📸 Photo album: flic.kr/s/aHBqjBBpiT

STATEMENT by U.S. Ambassador to Australia Caroline Kennedy: Thanks to President Biden’s leadership, the U.S.-Australia alliance has never been stronger. Together, we are keeping the Indo-Pacific freer and more open so that millions of people can build a better life for their families. We are strengthening our security partnership through AUKUS. We work together on cutting-edge science, like quantum and AI, and medical research through the President’s Global Cancer Moonshot. We are committed to fighting climate change and helping Pacific Island nations at existential risk. On a personal level, I want to thank President Biden for his friendship to generations of Kennedys - and for the confidence he placed in me by appointing me as Ambassador. His half-century of public service is an inspiration to all who seek to live lives of dignity, compassion, patriotism, and service. There is a lot more to accomplish in the next six months, and I am excited to work together to make it happen. — Ambassador Caroline Kennedy Full statement: https://lnkd.in/gc_kA6ti Photo: U.S. President Joe Biden with Ambassador Caroline Kennedy and members of the Kennedy family.
