It's been a pleasure to walk with St Pat's to design and develop the service model for the Engagement Hub 💛 We've been hanging out with them for about 4 years now and have just seen the organisation go from strength to strength, deeply thinking about Lived Experience, Aboriginal support and what it takes to end homelessness. Amazing to see that courage rewarded 💫 Michael Piu Traci Cascioli
HUGE NEWS📣: St Pat’s game-changing $22M project combatting chronic homelessness a “GO” 🎉 It’s a dream 🥅 that’s been the best part of 10 years in the making, but, particularly in Homelessness Week, I am absolutely thrilled to share that St Patrick's Community Support Centre has achieved its threshold goal of raising $22m to get the build phase of underway to redevelop our Fremantle facilities. 🏗️ The project will form a key element in progressing our strategy to end chronic homelessness in our community through provision of 28 long-term self-contained homes🏠, along with a brand new Engagement Hub🏬, and service delivery facilities, from which we will deliver wrap-around support🤝, to help people to end their experience of homelessness. What has been truly special has been the incredible generosity of our supporters 🏆, who share our vision and passion, and have backed us in making this a reality. There are so many of them to thank, but amongst others I would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Minderoo Foundation, the McCusker Charitable Foundation, Lotterywest, the Roger Cook WA State Government in particular the Department of Communities WA and Minister John Carey MLA, the Sisters of St John of God, Richard Lockwood, the Osboine Family, Seacorp, the WA Catholic Women’s League, the Leeuwin Estate Foundation, and many other generous donors who have chosen to remain anonymous. We are also grateful to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Perth for their significant ongoing contribution of land and buildings towards the project. I also want to offer my heartfelt thanks to one of my valued St Pat's colleagues, Jaron Green 💚, who has shared his story with generosity - and vividly explains how investment in these supports and housing options can change a life: (READ HERE 📰) https://lnkd.in/g8RjC-CZ Thank you also to Business News for their coverage of this momentous news (which I have attached to this post). Our next phase is to seek the community's support to provide the best possible fit out this facilities that will serve the community well for years to come as we continue in our work towards ending chronic homelessness.
