That moment when you get a letter from a 9 year old that makes it all worthwhile. I was delighted to receive this letter from Raheen following the Kids Takeover at State Library Victoria on Wednesday night. So much so, that I thought I'd take the opportunity to respond to Raheen and all young Library fans here 👇 Dear Raheen and all young Library fans, Your letter made my day! The Winter Kids Takeover was a blast, and I'm thrilled to hear it was even better than last year. Thanks also for the picture and information about the Megalodon. I'll display that in my office. I'm so glad you enjoyed the Paper Planet, the dance rave, and all of the other activities on offer. You’ve set the bar high for our 2025 Summer Takeover, but challenge accepted! We’ll do our best to keep the fun rolling. At State Library Victoria, we believe in the power of imagination and creativity. Our mission is to inspire all Victorians, young and old, to explore, learn, and dream big. You can learn more about events coming up for Kids and Families here: https://lnkd.in/gDW2EFWG Thank you again for your lovely letter, Raheen. We can’t wait to see you at the next Kids Takeover! Meet #StateLibraryVictoria's 2024 Fellows! 👋 Awarded to 16 creatives and scholars this year, each Fellow receives a share in $195,000 to support in-depth inquiry into the State Collection. As one of Australia’s most substantial programs, the Library’s #Fellowships support Victorian creative and academic communities to generate new, career-defining work. The 2024 Fellows include a new work of fiction about female convicts by an award-winning writer, a digital e-graphic novel to teach teenagers about AI and deep fakes, and plans to reenact a séance at the Library, evoking the Victorian-era obsession with the afterlife.
