Long term Government policy thinking is critical to the future of all major industries in Queensland, including the resources sector. Our CEO Janette Hewson joined Professor Simon Biggs from James Cook University and Dr. Brett Dale from Australian Medical Association QLD to discuss election priorities at the CEDA - Committee for Economic Development of Australia forum in Brisbane. During a cost of living crisis, it’s understandable this important issue will dominate a lot of the public discussion. Our industry is proud to support Queenslanders through secure and well paid jobs and generating 1 in every $4 of Queensland's economy. Political parties must also outline their long term strategies to secure Queensland’s ongoing economic security and to protect and grow jobs. The resources sector can continue to play an important role in providing Queensland jobs and economic benefits, if governments can get the right policy settings to attract and encourage new investment. #QRC #JCU #CEDA #AMA #Queensland #Qld
