This week was a particularly fun one for our CICA Lab team and participants as we hosted Workshop 2 of the Clinician Incubator Program in Sydney and Melbourne. Our talented cohort of clinicians got stuck right into the realm of design thinking 🎨 These creative workshops were designed to guide participants through the design thinking continuum, from identifying pressing healthcare problems to developing high-fidelity prototypes. Here's a closer look at what we got up to: 🤔 Evaluating Opportunities: We explored how to identify which opportunities are worth pursuing, considering factors like validated buyers, feasibility of the problem, market size, and the potential for success. 🧠 Creative Problem Solving: We then then focused on the selected opportunities, brainstorming and refining creative solutions. We picked the top ideas and went through how to experiment and prototype efficiently to determine which innovation has the highest chance of solving the customers' problems. Last night, our Clinician Incubator Program participants delved into the crucial topic of 'Stakeholder Discovery' during their webinar led by Dr Amandeep H. and Richard Macliver. They explored the complex dynamics in healthcare, where more often than not the users of innovations differ from the payers 🤔 Our participants learned the importance of aligning the pain points of users with those of the payers to develop successful innovations. Without this alignment, even the most groundbreaking solutions may fail - either because users want the innovation, but payers won’t fund it, or because payers invest in the solution, but users don’t engage with it 💡 Through real-world examples and expert guidance, our participants gained actionable insights into navigating these complexities.
