    Feige FILLING GmbH, Haver & Boecker's brand specialising in filling systems for liquid and pasty products, has released its first completely electrical drum filling system - the ELEMENTRA® 29. Previously, the lifting unit and the basic height adjustment were already offered in an electric version, but now an opening cylinder completes the all-electric machine. In the future, customers will be able to choose whether the system is driven fully electrically or pneumatically or only in parts. In contrast to the pneumatic drive, which is still available, the electrically driven system makes cost-intensive compressed air generation, preparation, and distribution a thing of the past. The use of electric drives also reduces set-up times during product changeovers, and the electric actuators require less maintenance. As a result, the total cost of ownership of the electric machine, which has slightly higher purchase costs, is nevertheless lower in most cases than with compressed air-operated devices. The ELEMENTRA® 29 not only works much more efficiently, but is also equipped with a touch screen and the web-based Feige Web HMI as standard, like all systems in the ELEMENTRA® series. It can be operated on any platform and on several devices simultaneously. It is also possible to document different statuses in the logbook.     When it comes to analysing your bulk powdery product to determine the best bag for packing it, we make it easy with our Haver Airflow Tester® machine.     Our RADIMAT® bag applicator: proving its value in cement packing. When one of our customers, NEXE d.d., Croatia's second largest cement producer, was looking for a reliable solution that would not only minimise the scrap and error rates, but also detect, document and ultimately eliminate inefficient processes, we knew this was an application for the RADIMAT® bag applicator. Previously, the customer had to deal with difficulties of having different bags from different manufacturers with strongly diverging characteristics. This resulted in high reject rates and an unnecessary waste of product, expensive sacks, labor time and energy costs in production. Working closely with NEXE, the Haver team defined the individual requirements and the targets of the bag scanner integrated into the existing fully automatic RADIMAT® bag opener which was combined with a 16-spout ROTO-PACKER® RVT SEAL Edition. QR codes printed on the empty bags identified the respective bag batch, monitored production in real time, and documented errors and inefficient processes such as incorrectly placed or broken bags, or deviations in the filling or sealing of the bags. Now, in addition to minimising the reject rate through continuous quality control of bags from different manufacturers and batches, the bag scanner is also making an important contribution to avoiding errors in selecting the right bags, for example when changing the type of bag. The machine recognises the upper empty inserted bag, checks whether the empty bag stack can be assigned to the product to be filled, and adjusts fully automatically to its dimensions and properties. And, if the empty bag stack cannot be assigned to the product to be filled after the scan process, the machine stops automatically, completely eliminating a reject rate due to operator error. Thanks to the integration into the on-site ERP system, the bag scanner also enables the bag inventory of each individual product: Expensive and aggravating empty bags are now a thing of the past! #Cement #CementIndustry #CementPacking

    Check out how our Haver & Boecker ROTO-FEED®, retro-fitted to this 19 year old machine at a cement packing plant, dramatically reduces dust generation, improves plant cleanliness and minimises product loss. The ROTO-FEED® feeds the material into the hopper below the product level, avoiding unnecessary air entrainment compared to free fall. This ensures a uniform level in the hopper, allowing the product to flow smoothly and evenly. Due to the significantly reduced air entrainment, the bags are deaerated faster. The smoother product flow results in higher weight accuracy and increases the efficiency of the packaging line. As a result, ROTO-FEED® ensures a clean appearance of the packaged end product!
