In the recently published paper in Nature, Diraq engineers demonstrated spin-based quantum processors operating above one Kelvin, whilst maintaining stability and high accuracy. This Nature issue features some breakthroughs in quantum computing. Alongside IBM’s demonstration of an efficient error correction protocol, we report high-fidelity silicon spin qubits above 1 K, presenting a complete error budget for error correction. By reducing the cooling constraints of our quantum processors, we are one step closer to creating more powerful, cost-effective, and energy-efficient systems. This is a critical requirement to achieve commercially viable real-world applications of #quantumcomputing. We are excited to welcome our new starter, Gerardo Paz Silva, who has joined the team as a Control and Noise Theorist . 🎉 A brief introduction from Gerardo: "I am a Control and Noise Theorist at Diraq. I have worked on the theory of noise characterization and suppression for over 10 years. My work has dealt with noise at all levels and time scales. From Markovian gate level errors -- working with quantum error correction and fault tolerant circuits -- to non-Markovian Hamiltonian level noise -- where dynamical error suppression techniques such as dynamical decoupling shine.    Originally from Colombia, I built my career from a PhD student at Macquarie University, to a group leader at Griffith University. In this path, I held a DECRA fellowship, led an AUSMURI grant, and had the chance to learn from leaders in the field (Lidar, Viola and Wiseman) during my postdoc years in the US and Australia.   I am very excited join Diraq!'' Welcome to the team! ✨
