Ocean climate action was in focus at two recent events in Indonesia hosted by Climateworks Centre. Attended by more than 80 delegates from around the world, our side event at the Global Ocean Accounts Partnership (GOAP) 5th Global Dialogue in Bali, 'Enhanced NDCs: Challenges and Opportunities for Unlocking Sustainable Blue Finance', highlighted the ocean's role in climate mitigation, the current state of blue carbon finance, barriers hindering investment in climate-positive projects, and opportunities to escalate investments in crucial blue ecosystems. At the 19th Islands of the World Conference on Lombok Island, our side event 'An Ocean of Opportunity: Unlocking Ocean-based Climate Actions toward  Net Zero and Resilient Future' featured a panel discussion, marketplace session and keynote from Muhammad Yusuf, Director of Coastal and Small Islands Utilization, Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries - Republic of Indonesia who showcased Indonesia's efforts in setting up governance for blue carbon ecosystems.
