A really good base for central Sydney

LOCATION The hotel is situated on the edge of Hyde Park, which has the War Memorial, together with lovely gardens and fountains. The hotel is a short walk from both the Museum and St James transit stations. There are lots of shops and restaurants within easy walking distance, plus easy access to the cities’ attractions. ROOM We had a Classic room. The king-sized bed was very comfortable, and the room was well furnished. It included tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge and a room safe. The view from the room over Hyde Park was incredible. The only negative was the corner bath which took an age to fill and was impossible difficult to get comfortable in. We had showers after that! HOTEL FACILITIES The rooftop pool looked very nice, although it was small and got quite busy. We didn’t use the restaurant, bar or any fitness equipment. STAFF The reception staff were really helpful and stored our luggage until our check in time. The cleaning staff were very efficient.

Don’t order room service!!!!

Our experience was not the greatest! We did expect staying at the Pullman and the amount paid would provide a more nicer and worthwhile stay. To begin with we had to tell the receptionist at checkin we had a staycation stay including parking and breakfast. Secondly the room service food was terrible! Ordered lasagna and a meat lovers pizza. The lasagna was all pasta and copious amounts of cheese with a couple of specs of mince and hardly any sauce. Sickening! The pizza was all cheese with little to no meats. Awful. We did complain and the chef said he would not charge for both meals but reception rang to confirm they’d only refund the lasagna. Looks like we will be battling that out at reception. Terrible experience.

Excellent service but terrible rooms. Planned to stay for 4 nights in a park view room. Arrived to find car parking easy and service polite. However that was the end to the good experience. The elevator and hallways were dirty. The room had water damage, smelled mouldy and was dark. The sheets didn’t quite cover the bed on one side. The view of the park was nice, however the window didn’t let in enough light. Disappointing, we didn’t stay. Found an alternative hotel nearby for a similar price.

Check in staff were excellent. Restaurant ordering was confusing. A la carte was suggested when we were given the Pre Set page. When I then asked for the A La Carte menu, the waiting staff did not where it was. THEN our entree and mains were delivered at the same time. Meals were fine and very flavourful and exactly as described in the menus. It was just confusing with the menu recommendations. In the room there were no written instructions with the Nespresso machine were not available. I have no experience with a Nespresso. There was a lack of coffee pods for a room catering for 2 adults. A full sink was there however there was a serious lack of kitchen cleaning supplies - tea towels, cleaning cloths. There was no top sheet on king size bed - European style which is not suitable to Sydney Australian conditions. There was no spare blanket All the pillows on the bed were VERY hard and made of rubber so there was NO flexibility. I would prefer a pillow menu.

The hotel was in a great location and the views were amazing. The room was big and the bed was comfortable although the pillows were not great (too hard) The bathroom was in need of modernising. There was insufficient drawer space and we had to ask for more clothes hangers. The communal areas were not brilliant and we found the bar very uninviting. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed our time.
