NEVER THOUGHT I COULD FEEL HOMELESS AT A HOTEL I PAID FOR

We booked this hotel via booking.com which was already paid for. We reached the hotel around midnight and the receptionist asked me for my last name, found my booking and was ready to handover the room keys until he found an error in his booking and refused to give us a room. We called Booking’s customer service for further assistance – they confirmed to us that the place is booked and tried contacting the hotel but here the chaos ensues. First – they blatantly lied to me that someone with my (extremely rare) last name was staying in the room that they initially allocated to us. When we pointed this out, they started cursing at us in French. Second, they were refusing to pick up calls from Booking.com right in front of us and instead forced us to talk to some useless colleagues. Every time someone tried to help us out they were cussing them too and treated us with absolutely no respect. I was taken aback by the dreadful hospitality that was offered to us. After making us wait for 3 hours, they offered us a room for one night and said we might have to pay for it separately and suddenly turned the whole conversation to paying city tax. They also told us that no matter what, we NEED to pay the city tax at 7 AM the next morning after keeping us up till 3 am. And finally when we made it to the room, we realised how disgusting it was. There was mould on the walls, hair on the bunk bed, faulty light switches and a fake AC that pumps out hot air. The next morning at 6:40 am, they had the audacity to knock on our door to wake us up to talk about the city tax. Overall, it was the worst hotel experience of our life which ruined our first day in Paris - we felt extremely unsafe and unwelcomed and checked out at 7 am which was the best decision we made. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL IF YOU WANT PEACE OF MIND.

Français çi-dessous... I had such a positive experience here - the hotel itself is clean and has everything you need for a basic stay. However, the staff are really really great!!! I had a nightmare situation with my phone charger and Youssef on reception went above and beyond to help me source a phone charger and ensure I would make my meetings early the next day. He really cared and went out of his way to help me. Thank you! It was a brilliant experience. J'ai passé un très bon séjour dans cet hôtel - l’hôtel est propre et a des bonnes installations pour un court séjour. Cependant, le personnel est incroyable!!! J'ai eu des problèmes avec mon chargeur de téléphone, mais Youssef de la réception a fait de son mieux pour m'aider. Mille mercis, Youssef!!!!

Great location with easy access to the metro and Gare du Nord. The local area is quite vibrant with several bars and restaurants. There is a canal and a nearby park which are pleasant for walking. There is also a super market adjacent to the hotel. The hotel itself is quite basic, as is to be expected from a budget hotel, but it is clean and has all the essential facilities. I was surprised to find breakfast was offered. This was a decent continental breakfast at a reasonable price. The staff were lovely throughout. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a budget hotel in Paris.

Although this is a budget hotel I found very little to complain about during our three night stay in May 2024. Although not right in the heart of the city, there are two Metro stations a five minute walk in either direction. Gare du Nord is only two stops away on the 5 line so this is a decent option if arriving via Eurostar. The staff we encountered were all very polite and friendly. Breakfast, served in a room on the first floor was more than adequate, with a decent selection available. Although the room does get busy at peak times. (8-9) The room itself was basic, no kettle provided. And the temperature fans were basically ineffective so may not be the best place to stay during the height of summer. However, in early May, we had no problems getting a decent nights sleep. The shower does open directly into the bedroom and the toilet is a separate cubicle. The towels provided were thin, but were changed every day. The local area was quite lively, but a nearby canal and park made the area quite pleasant for walks in the morning. All in all, we had a pleasant and enjoyable stay and found the hotel very good if travelling on a budget.
