Good location but bathroom needs a refresh

Booked 2 rooms for my family at Mercure Perth. Upon check-in, Assistant Manager told me that I was given a complimentary room upgrade but turns out, it's the same room that I booked. Would be good if the assistant manager could be more truthful about it. The bed and pillow is not very comfortable and doesn't have much support. The toilet needs to be renovated especially the shower head which sprays water everywhere. Air con is centrally controlled and sometimes too hot or too cold. Carpet needs a refresh as well. Location is good for walking to CDB. Only good for a couple of days stay if you want an affordable stay in Perth. Will be back this Saturday, hope to have better experience for my 2nd stay.

The gym didn't work, there was no hot water for at least 18 hours for the whole hotel. The first aid contact officers list in the gym was so old it had yellowed. The desk chair was broken (it was replaced with a dining chair). My colleague's bathroom hook fell off the back of the door and the screw pierced their foot. There was a flashing light outside that continued all night. The safe was broken (that was fixed). It is indicative of the hotel being very run down. I will not be staying here again.

We were put here for one night after Perth airport couldn't fly any planes out from the airport. After a wait of over seven hours both of us were shattered by the time we got here. The bed was nice and comfy and the bathroom had a separate shower and a bath. A bit dated as far as looks but were a big dated but was very comfortable.

Matthew on night shift,the check in was a seamless check in, thank you, although the key didnt work but, he was there. Awesome bloke. He definitely knows alot about the facilities. Couldn't get into room, sorted within minutes, thank you Matt Legend of a person

I stayed at this hotel while visiting Perth for a few days on the way back from a trip to New Zealand. I found this hotel to be central to Perth, clean, and with lovely staff. The only criticism I have is that the sound Proofing was not great in the room, as we got disturbed on several occasions from noisy guests above and to the side. I also feel that the rooms, especially the bathroom, could do with a refurb. But, otherwise we had a good stay at this hotel.
