This hotel is clean, quiet and has a great location in the heart of "Pest". Staff was friendly and helpful. Location is great - close to tram and bus lines, across the street from a lovely park, and walking distance to sites and restaurants. While the hotel serves a breakfast buffet, there isn't a restaurant onsite serving lunch or dinner.

Historic building in excellent location

Historic building with a lovely staircase. Take time to read the info boards near the bar about the history of the hotel. Very nice buffet breakfast in a room with an impressive decorated glass ceiling. Well located in central Budapest with both metro and tram stops right outside. (We bought the 72-hour pass from the machine in the metro and that covered us for all transport for our stay). Easy walk to restaurants, the hotel clerk helpfully gave us some good recommendations. Also a short walk to the wonderful "ruin bar" called Szimpla Kert. Only downside was our room had a light-well rather than a view, but never mind, we weren't spending much time there apart from sleeping anyway. Room was very comfortable.

Boutique accommodation with clean room, basic amenities and warm, friendly staff. Metro/tram/bus services right outside.

Thank you Budapest you were very kind to me and my daughter, and a huge shout out to team Nemzeti for ensuring a hassle-free stay for us. Located conveniently with bus/tram/metro services literally outside the main door, the hotel has all the basic amenities in place - clean room, daily service, helpful staff. There is no pool or a bathtub (at least wasn’t in ours) but you don’t really miss them since as a tourist you are pretty much out discovering the city rather than soaking in a bath. Also it is a city of spas so who needs a pool 😊 If convenience, comfort and value for money are your priorities then this is your go to place. And of course, the breakfast ensures a hearty, heavy tummy as you step out for the day. 21 Jun 2024

Great Option in Budapest

Hotel Nemzeti is a class act. The historic hotel is very well situated in the old city, only 15-20 min walk to the Danube, and directly on a main tram line. The rooms are very nice and spacious with very comfortable bed, awesome shower, and Nespresso machine in the room (nice touch). The lobby and interior are very well appointed with a feel of historical elegance. The staff is super friendly, with excellent English capability. But the best part? The breakfast!! I have traveled extensively, and it was the best breakfast buffet I have encountered. Stay here, you won't regret it!! RB

We thoroughly enjoyed our three day stay at the Hotel Nemzeti due to the amazing service we received from the staff, especially at the front desk (including dinner recommendations, transport arrangements etc) the bar/restaurant and at breakfast. We always received a warm friendly smile and nothing was too much trouble. The room was comfortable albeit on the small side but very well appointed. The breakfast was a highlight with a great selection of everything you’d expect and eggs and sides cooked to order and often delivered by the chef. We also enjoyed the ambience of the hotel which honoured the history of the building but delivered contemporary comfort.
