In our latest White Paper, our Head of Research Ali H. explores the perceived limitations of Frontier equities in terms of size, liquidity, and weak relative returns versus Emerging Markets. This paper refutes the popular misconceptions surrounding the asset class, making a case for supplementing EM exposure with a dedicated Frontier equities allocation to maximize returns and diversification. Join us on the 2nd of July at 11:00 BST / 12:00 CEST / 14:00 GST as Mehdi Kaoukabi, Portfolio Manager at FIM Partners, discusses the opportunities available to investors in MENA equities in a webcast moderated by IPE. With the MENA region becoming a significant part of the MSCI EM Index over the past few years, it is a space that is increasingly interesting for EM investors. As one of the fastest growing markets in the emerging world, we believe there is a structural case to hold MENA equities for global institutional investors and asset allocators. https://lnkd.in/d8UUmsBC

We are delighted to have participated in this year's Bonds Loans & Sukuk Middle East Conference. Our Head of MENA Fixed Income Usman Ahmed, CFA along with a group of experts exchanged their insights and views in a panel session focused on the different strategies deployed by regional issuers and EM investors to adapt to the volatile economic environment characterized by high interest rates. Participants discussed how issuers are tapping new sources of liquidity and broadening their funding options. The discussion also revolved around the allocation of funds from EM investors as well as their return expectations. The panel's unique insights were well received amongst the audience. We are pleased to have shared the stage with an esteemed group of experts. Thank you to all attendees and thank you GFC Media Group Alex Johnson Aveen Prasad for organizing another successful event! This month’s Themes from FIM is unusual because it’s focused on just Egypt – but it encapsulates the fertility/savings theme which is so important for investors in lower to middle income countries. The inflow of money to Egypt since the devaluation earlier in the month is already very large. One local institution estimates it at $8-10bn in portfolio flows. That’s on top of the $57bn of investments and loans already promised in the past month. In this piece we examine whether fundamental changes in Egypt might mean that it really is different this time. In our latest newsletter, Francesc Balcells CIO of the EM Debt strategy at FIM Partners discusses the “what” and” how” of reforms that is driving the recovery, and looks at the subject from an ESG Lens.
