Developing countries initiative
To ensure that non-profit research institutions in developing nations have access to critical research, Oxford University Press (OUP) participates in a number of free or heavily-reduced rate access initiatives for developing countries. These include EIFL, Research4Life, and the Oxford Developing Countries Program.
Free or deeply discounted access to selected resources is available to established not-for-profit educational institutions from qualifying countries. If you think your institution may qualify, please consider applying for discounted access to our journals and online products. The following information will help determine your institution’s eligibility for the Oxford Developing Countries Program and outline what access and benefits this could offer to your institution:
- Participating countries – Eligibility is based on the World Bank Rankings, Human Development Index (HDI), and other metrics.
- Article processing charge (APC) waiver policy – Corresponding authors in all countries and regions that are part of the developing countries initiative are eligible for a full waiver of publishing fees in our fully open access journals.
- Developing countries application form – If you’re a librarian or senior administrator at a non-profit institution, apply for discounted access and receive a no-obligation quote for reduced-price access to select Oxford journals and online products
