An Endocrine Society Thematic Issue: Thyroid Disorders and Cancer 2018

January 2018

Read our special collection of journal articles published in 2016–2017, focused on thyroid disorders and cancer. Curation of the collection was guided by Altmetric Attention Scores and Featured Article designations. Topics include controversies in the treatment of low-risk thyroid cancer, the identification of populations at risk for complications after thyroid cancer surgery, an examination of whether tumor-associated miRNAs can improve follow-up, a comprehensive look at the role of thyroid hormones in the skeleton, and more. Basic science topics include the discovery of signaling between a tumor suppressor and tumor promoter that may reveal strategies for intervention, a mouse model of the role of SB2 in thyroid biology, the use of Xenopus to examine thyroid hormone transporters, and others.
