Susan Nicholas co-anchors “First Look at Four” on WSAZ NewsChannel 3 with Tim Irr.

Susan began her broadcasting career while still in high school as an overnight DJ at WNST radio station in her hometown of Milton, West Virginia. She then became a radio news reporter for WTCR-FM radio in Catlettsburg, Kentucky and served as news director for WMUL-FM at Marshall University before making the move to television as a weekend reporter and intern at WSAZ Television in Huntington. After graduation from Marshall, Susan worked as an anchor at WYMT Television in Hazard, Kentucky (1990-1994) and WOWK Television (1994-2001) in Huntington before returning to WSAZ in 2001. She has covered most of the major news events in the Tri-State for the past 34+ years.

Susan made a cameo appearance as a news anchor in the 2002 Hollywood movie “The Mothman Prophecies.” She was inducted into the Marshall University School of Journalism Hall of Fame in 2021. Susan is married to former WSAZ reporter Doug Korstanje and they have two children. Susan loves spending time with her family and “Bumper” their dog.
