Hannah Hayes

Hannah Hayes started as the weekend meteorologist at WSAZ in January 2024. Previously, she spent 1.5 years in Hattiesburg, Mississippi at our sister station, WDAM. Born and raised in north Alabama, Hannah is excited to be here in the Tri-State to forecast for a brand-new climate.

Hannah is an alumna of Mississippi State University where she got her Bachelors of Science degree with a concentration in Broadcast Meteorology and also received a minor in Communication in May of 2022.

Her passion for weather began after the 2011 tornado outbreak. While tornadoes came right through her hometown of Albertville, Alabama, Hannah realized that the broadcast meteorologists were the ones who kept her family safe during that time, so she aspires to do the same while delivering her forecasts now. Her main passion is covering severe weather, but she always likes to keep people informed, no matter what the weather may be.

When not on air or studying the forecast, Hannah enjoys spending her time outdoors. You can catch her playing golf, pickleball, disc golf, or walking her dog, Sunny, with her husband, Conner. If the weather isn't suitable for her favorite hobbies, she will likely be inside reading a book and playing with her cat, Salem.
