HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Hurricane Beryl was downgraded to a Tropical Storm as she crossed the Yucatan of Mexico south of Cancun on Friday. But she is not done yet as she emerges over the Gulf of Mexico this weekend.

Bathwater-like temperatures and low wind sheer (winds aloft) will provide the ideal conditions for redevelopment and a regaining of hurricane status. That means a Sunday landfall in south Texas with storms urge, high winds and torrents of rain for the SE coat of the Lone Star State.

From there, air currents may well drive Beryl’s remnants through our area mid next week.

Tony showcases the European Model’s take of our prospects for drenching rains.
