LOGAN COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - At 100 years young, Anna Toler, better known as “Mammy,” could write a book full memories that reflect the woman she is today.

Her daughters say beyond raising 13 children, Mammy always made it a priority to look out for the well-being of others.

“I know how hard she worked all of her life. One year, we canned like a thousand cans of food to help other people. That’s how she was. She always looked out for someone else,” Ruby Toler said.

Greg Frazier knows firsthand of the generosity of Mammy. He’s an adopted grandson, you could say.

“I wasn’t a blood grandchild, I was just a neighbor. But, she accepted me as a grandchild and those morning walks to the bus stop and stopping at her house for breakfast-- the table was always spread. The table was always open for anybody that wanted to come and it was there every single day,” Frazier said. “If my life could be just a smidge of what her life has been and made an impact on as many lives as she has made -- it would be worth it all.”
