OMAHA, Neb. (WYMT) - Kentucky beat NC State in their first ever College World Series appearance, 5-4, behind a Mitchell Daly walk off home run!

The win marks Kentucky’s first ever at the College World Series.

Kentucky scored first off of an RBI single from Nick Lopez in the first inning.

The game went back-and-forth with the Wildcats falling behind 4-3 going into the final frame.

Ryan Nicholson sent the game into extra innings with a solo home run to left field in the bottom of the ninth.

Daly sent BBN into a frenzy with his walk-off home run in the 10th inning.

UK will play the winner of Saturday’s final game, Texas A&M and Florida, on Monday at 7 p.m.

The Blue and White went undefeated throughout the regional and super regional rounds to punch their first ever ticket to Omaha.

UK entered the game with a 45-14 record. They faced a Wolfpack team that is making its fourth trip to Omaha. North Carolina State is now 38-22 on the season.

The Wolfpack led the all-time series with UK, 4-3, the Cats tied that series up with their win.

The Wildcats beat NC State in the Lexington Regional in 2017 to win the school’s first regional championship.
