UPDATE: Suspect in Days Inn shooting held on $1,000,000 cash only bond

PRINCETON, W.Va. (WVVA) - UPDATE 1:20 p.m. Saturday: According to Cpt. Jesse J. Ruble with the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department, one of two alleged gunmen involved in a Friday evening mass shooting in Princeton has been arraigned in Mercer County and is being held at Southern Regional Jail on a $1,000,000 cash only bond. The unnamed suspect is facing multiple felony charges.

In a press release, Cpt. Ruble goes on to explain that four people were treated for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds Friday evening, after two men attending a family reunion exchanged gunfire at the Days Inn Conference Center on Meadowfield Lane in Princeton.

Friday night, Lt. S.A. Sommers with the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office told WVVA the other alleged shooter involved was injured by gunfire Friday night and was taken to a trauma center for treatment.

This ongoing investigation is being handled by Lt. Sommers.

UPDATE: The second shooter has turned themself in and is now in police custody.

Four people are in the hospital after a shooting at the Days Inn in Princeton, West Virginia off Route 460.

Two family members exchanged gunfire injuring one of the shooters and three bystanders. One bystander is a child. The injured shooter was taken to the hospital and the other one is still at-large.

Lieutenant Steven Sommers of the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department told WVVA that a fight broke out at a family gathering and everyone involved is a member of that family. Authorities have located a car that fled the scene but are not releasing the location at this time.

The shooting is suspected to have occurred in a private party around the Days Inn conference center. West Virginia State Police, Princeton Rescue Squad and Bluefield, West Virginia Rescue Squad are on sight.

According to Lieutenant Brian Murphy of the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department, the first call came in at 7:56 p.m. There are two suspects at this time.
