MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has announced the 2024 men’s soccer schedule.

Coming off its first College Cup appearance in program history, the Mountaineers will play 17 regular-season matches, including nine at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium in Morgantown. WVU will also play three exhibition matches before the season.

The season gets started with two preseason matches on the road – Saturday, Aug. 10 at UNC Asheville and Tuesday, Aug. 13 at Virginia Tech – before coming home for the final exhibition match against Montgomery College on Saturday, Aug. 17.

The Mountaineers officially open the season with three home contests, beginning with Purdue Fort Wayne on Thursday, Aug. 22. WVU will then play host to Saint Francis (Pa.) on Monday, Aug. 26, and George Washington on Friday, Aug. 30.

A two-game road swing out west follows with the Mountaineers traveling to defending WAC champion California Baptist on Friday, Sept. 6, before taking on Loyola Marymount in an Elite Eight rematch on Tuesday, Sept. 10.

West Virginia is back home on Tuesday, Sept. 17, to take on UNC Greensboro before opening its third season of Sun Belt Conference play on the road at Old Dominion on Saturday, Sept. 21. The Mountaineers will play its Sun Belt home opener against Kentucky on Friday, Sept. 27, before going back on the road on Tuesday, Oct. 1, to take on Bucknell.

On Saturday, Oct. 5, UCF will come to Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium for a Sun Belt contest before the Mountaineers go on the road for two games – Friday, Oct. 11 against Georgia Southern and Tuesday, Oct. 15 against defending A-10 champions, Dayton. West Virginia is back home for two conference games against South Carolina on Saturday, Oct. 19 and Georgia State on Wednesday, Oct. 23.

The Mountaineers hit the road on Sunday, Oct. 27, for a matchup against 2023 Elite Eight participant James Madison before coming back home for the final home game of the season on Thursday, Oct. 31 against Coastal Carolina.

The 2024 regular season concludes on Tuesday, Nov. 5, when the Mountaineers travel to Huntington to take on rival Marshall in the Mountain State Derby.

All dates, times and locations are subject to change. Information about tickets for the 2024 home slate, will be announced at a later date.
