Makenzie Long won the 'Triple Crown' of events at the NCAA Outdoor Championships over the weekend.(WSAZ)

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Makenzie Long began her running career in Ironton, Ohio and it has taken her to the top in NCAA track and field. At the 2024 Outdoor Championships, Long won the 100 meter, 200 meter and was a teammate in the 4X100 meter dash which is called the triple crown in track circles. She ran the 200 meter dash in 21.83 seconds, the 100 meter dash in 10.82 seconds and the relay time was 42.34 seconds.

Long grew up in Ironton and left to attend Pickerington Central High School in Columbus then ran collegiately at NC State. She is at Ole Miss as a graduate student and is competing in the Olympic trials beginning June 21st in Eugene, Oregon.
