W.Va. GOP gubernatorial candidates square off in WSAZ-hosted forum

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - WSAZ on Tuesday night hosted the West Virginia Republican Gubernatorial Forum in Charleston.

It featured candidates Patrick Morrisey, the West Virginia Attorney General; Moore Capito, former West Virginia State Delegate; Mac Warner, West Virginia Secretary of State; and businessman Chris Miller.

Candidates fielded questions from WSAZ anchors Tim Irr and Sarah Sager. They included issues including the rising costs of utilities, school safety, holding Child Protective Services accountable, reconsidering a regional airport for Charleston and Huntington, road and bridge infrastructure, and ensuring against economic broken promises regarding jobs.

Early voting in West Virginia starts Wednesday, May 1.
