HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Caden Kaiser’s 11th inning smash back up the middle sent Jack Cook Field into a Wednesday night frenzy as Marshall topped West Virginia 3-2. The Herd improves to 12-19 on the season while the Mountaineers fall to 19-13.

WVU jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the second on a Grant Hussey opposite field solo home run. Marshall tied it in the bottom of the sixth inning on a Tre Hondras blooper down the right field line that scored Eli Vogelsong.

The teams traded runs in the top of the seventh inning and the bottom of the ninth which sent it to extra innings.

WVU squandered a major opportunity in the top of the 11th when two players were caught in rundowns on the same play and the game ended in dramatic fashion on the single by Kaiser.

Here are the highlights and postgame reaction from the Herd.
