NEW ORLEANS – Marshall University Baseball’s Bryce Blevins was named the Sun Belt Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday for the third time this season, as announced by the league office. Blevins becomes the first position player or pitcher to earn three conference weekly awards in the same season and just the second to win three in a career joining Victor Gomez.

The sophomore continued his phenomenal season with a masterclass complete game shutout on Saturday in a 5-0 win over Texas State. The left-handed hurler allowed just four hits and a walk with six strikeouts across his gem of a nine-inning performance. The victory clinched the series for The Herd, who are 4-0 in series at Jack Cook Field this season, and it was the team’s first complete game shutout since 2018.

Blevins sits atop the Sun Belt and ranks 15th in the nation with a 1.86 ERA in 48.1 innings on the mound, the most in the Sun Belt. Herd Baseball is back in action on Wednesday when it hosts the West Virginia Mountaineers at 6 p.m. at Jack Cook Field.
