WSAZ on hand for season opener at new MU baseball stadium
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Friday marked opening day at the new Marshall University baseball stadium, and WSAZ will be on hand for special live coverage.
Our special aired from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday, March 1, on WSAZ NewsChannel 3. Sports Director Keith Morehouse and other WSAZ talent were a part of the coverage at the brand-new Jack Cook Field.
The Thundering Herd took on the Manhattan Jaspers from New York.
Marshall wins season baseball opener at Jack Cook Field
Marshall defeated Manhattan 3-0.
This was the schedule leading up to the big game:
- 2 p.m. – Gates open
- 2:35 p.m. – Be in your seats for the Opening Day Pre-game Ceremony
- 2:50 p.m. – Honorary Starting 9 takes the field
- 2:55 p.m. – First Pitch/Rick Reed
- 3:07 p.m. – Herd Baseball Intro Video and Starting Lineup
- 3:09 p.m. – National Anthem being performed by The Voice contestant Rachel Messer, Woodman Life’s Big American Flag Display, Bill Noe Flight School Flyover
- 3:12 p.m. – First Pitch
