Herd women win again

SAN MARCOS, Tx. (WSAZ) - The Marshall women’s basketball team threw a second quarter haymaker at Texas State and it knocked the Bobcats out. Marshall outscored them 27-5 in the second ten minutes of play which included a 21-0 run as the Herd is now 20-6 overall and 14-1 in Sun Belt play. The final score was 85-59 with Abby Beeman and Sydni Scott each scored 18 points while Meredith Maier and Aislynn Hayes added 17 each apiece in the win.
Marshall plays their final road game of the season Saturday at UL Monroe and are currently the top team in the Sun Belt. Troy is second at 12-3 with James Madison 10-4 with the conference basketball tournament now less than two weeks away.
